The sky was covered by thick and dark clouds when Sayuri entered the destroyed and abandoned village of the demon slayers. There was not a real reason for her to be there, but the place did not disturb her either. She had been traveling for over six hours now and even though she was not tired, the Youkai decided to make a little break. She explored the surroundings with curiosity reflected in her eyes as she tried to figure out what exactly had happened to the village's people.
Sayuri already knew a few things about the demon slayers, basically about their occupation as "Youkai Exterminators". It was said that they could combat and kill youkai despite their lack of spiritual powers (like those possessed by monks and priests), due to many years of training, the use of special weapons and equipment made to combat demons. "Mmm… I need to see it in order to believe it." Sayuri thought as she fixed her eyes on the entrance door of one of the houses. With caution, the lady entered the building and soon recognized multiple weapons, all of them made with Yokai bones, claws and fangs. "This is, in fact, very interesting…" She muttered as her fingers caressed softly one of the weapons. It was easy to sense the demoniacal aura around it, which proved hoe dangerous it could be for low-ranked demons.
Stepping out of the house, a naughty water drop fell on Sayuri's forehead. The fox demon looked up into the sky and soon rain started falling down. A storm was getting closer to the village, no doubt about it. Nevertheless, was it possible for her to escape from it? She loved the rain, she loved storms, thunders and wind. Feeling wet, her clothes started clinging to her skin. Sayuri closed her eyes for a moment, giving out a deep sigh and enjoying the peaceful silence that was only being disturbed by the noise the water drops made as they landed on the ground. However, her relaxing time came to an end sooner than she had expected. Somebody or something was approaching to the place, Sayuri could not catch the beings scent clearly because of the rain and therefore could not determine what it was. There was no reason for her to run away, though. Being peaceful as she was, there would probably be no reason to start a fight… maybe.

Kalak sighed. It was so hard to find good help around here. Another partnership fallen apart, and he was wandering again. When he sensed the youkai nearby, he stopped. A demon in a village of demon slayers. He had to admit, the irony had caught his attention. The old monster didn't expect a fight, but he decided to approach cautiously just in case.
Kalak's body seemed to dissolve, turning into a gelatinous liguid that seeped into the ground. He traveled just under the surface. When he approached the stranger, a tiny eyestalk formed and poked its way out of the ground, making sure that nobody would see him surface. Kalak maneuvered around, coming up about fifteen feet behind her and forming into his usual shape, an elderly man in monk's robes.
With a flick of his wrist, a panel flew off one of the abandoned houses and levitated over Kalak's head. "Can I interest you in an umbrella, miss?" he asked, smiling slightly. He did love making a theatrical entrance.

Sayuri noticed the newcomer getting closer to where she was although she could not see him. Her nose caught the scent again; a scent the Youkai had never met before. It felt slightly human, but it obviously wasn't. She stood in silence without moving a single muscle, although she was ready to attack in case it was needed. Sayuri was not the one to show her emotional status. If she was in panic, nobody would ever notice. Indeed, she would stay calm as if nothing was going wrong and continue with the battle until she got the chance to take an advantage of the situation.
Slowly, as the stranger spoke, the albino fox demon turned around. She faced a thin, old man whose voice was deeper than she would have expected. His telekinetic ability made Sayuri put up her guard even more. This creature standing in front of her was obviously not as fragile as it seemed. "I do not need it." She spoke softly and respectfully. Moving a few steps to the side, Sayuri tried to figure out what kind of being the old man was. "May I ask what you are?" Stopping her walk, the Youkai increased the distance between her and the newcomer.
