Detailed personality description: Tobi is mentally unstable, meaning that he can't control himself at times and kills whatever is in his path. During the new moon, he keeps a low profile, being cautious that a youkai might slay him while he is human, and powerless. He doesn't normally form emotional attachments to anybody. He is a ruthless killer and doesn't back down from a fight he's already begun. The only instance where he'll leave a fight is if his opponent is too weak to make the fight fun for him.

History
Detailed Personal History: Tobi first lived in ancient Greece and had been mistaken as the god of the ocean, Poseidon. He thought that it was right for him to be worshipped by the Greeks and Romans, even if they thought he was someone else, so he stuck with the story and took on different forms and disguises, sometimes a kraken. He kept this up for a few hundred years before he had heard of powerful youkai in a land far to the east. He quickly decided it was time for a change of scenery and traveled to Japan.
Detailed Version One History: Upon his arrival in Japan, Tobi came across a demon slayer village and destroyed it before a hanyo named Kamba fought him. The battle didn't last very long, as Tobi didn't find fighting a hanyou very fun and left the battle, Kamba wasn't even able to harm him.
After a few months of traveling, Tobi came across a being named Naraku and his minions, who were looting a shard of the shikom jewel from a village. Tobi had attacked them, seeing them as powerful youkai, and one of them was able to harm him with a black flame called "Amaterasu". Tobi left the fight when he sensed Naraku's presence and faced him. He joined Naraku's cause, seeing his chance to gather the jewel shards and become a full youkai, instead of his cursed life as being 1/4 human.
