Detailed Personality Description:
He seems cold and emotionless at the first glance, but this is not so, not completely anyway. He has developed this ice mask in order to control his emotions and prevent himself from killing more people than he should. The mask, however, is not perfect, and he covers that up with a false front of bravado and arrogance to further hide it.
Underneath the cold exterior, he is actually very nice and kind, though he does not usually show it as it is detrimental to his work as a mercenary and an assassin. He is very honorable as well, so if he gives you his word, he will fulfill it exactly as you said. Extracting the oath from him however is worse than trying to pull a crocodile’s tooth.
He also hides a side that is brimming with rage, hatred, apathy, and insanity. These manifest as his berserk half-demon form and he hides this with the help of meditation and his limiters. If it is ever unleashed, people are advised to run away in the opposite direction as fast as possible, as he turns into a bloodthirsty monster with no care of the innocent. That was the problem before he fell in the well, but after 2000 years he has learned to control that form completely. However, now he has a new problem to control: his true full demon forms.
It has been so long since has journeyed away from the monastery that the values that he had adapted from his mentor had slowly started to become a core part of his personality. In essence this has become a case of a lie becoming real. Even if it is, Ryuu still retains his early values and clings to some of them with a metaphorical vice grip, afraid to go, rightly afraid.

Mainly this but with bronze skin, pointed ears, and misty silver-blue slitted eyes instead, and the trench coat is a darker blue, with a long black scaly tail that he wraps around his waist as a belt to hide it, plus he wears an 8-pointed compass-like symbol as a medallion. He also has two red stripes on each side of his cheeks and the symbol of a half solar eclipse in black and white on his forehead. The stripes also appear on his arms, torso, legs, and tail when he is very angry. Other changes are that he wears normal black leather gloves, and that he has three black earrings on his right ear, and five gold ones on his left ear, and a choker with strange silver markings.
Humanoid demon form, first stage: Here
Mainly this, but with white hair, the main body color changed to black with red and gold highlights, and that he has two huge curving gold horns on his head along with the fact that the hole in his chest is replaced by the image the medallion represented.

Overall Description:
History
Detailed Personal History:
He was found in the wilderness of rural China, near the Himalayas with a wolf cub and a tiger cub, and wearing a very oversized medallion of an 8-pointed, compass-like figure. He was found by, as he had later found out, by Danava, an Indian soldier training in one of the monasteries. Then when Danava found him, he brought him to the monastery, and the wolf and the tiger followed the two.
The monks were shocked at finding Danava with a baby, and that there was a wolf and a tiger cub trailing them. They ushered Danava inside, and reluctantly let the two animals in. After extensive arguments and pleadings, it was decided that the young baby would be kept and raised in the monastery, along with the tiger and the wolf, because as it turns out, for some strange reason they were bonded to each other.
Three years had passed, and the monks were astounded at the rate in which the baby learned. In fact, by now he was able to talk in full simple sentences in Chinese, and could even write some of the characters. They were now debating o whether they should teach him the martial arts they taught in the monastery, and after a week long debate it was decided that they would teach him as they would any other student, despite his young age. Again, to their complete surprise, the child took to the techniques like a fish took to water, and soaked them up like a dehydrated sponge. Not only that, he seemed to be actually enjoying it.
The child then mastered the entire thing after two years, and he asked if he could go to other monasteries with his friends, the tiger cub and the wolf cub, which were now much bigger. The monks agreed, on one condition: that he must visit them once a year. Shen, as he was named, agreed to that stipulation, and he started traveling over China to find and learn all the martial arts he could. He learned even faster than before since he already had a background in martial arts, and thus, by his 12th birthday, he had already learned most if not all of the martial arts China had to offer. Still not satisfied, he sent a letter to his ‘family’, asking if he could travel the continent, no the world for martial arts techniques.
After a week of debating, they asked Shen to come to the monastery to meet them, and they will inform him of their decision in person. However, before Shen was able to get there, the monastery was attacked by troops and bandits, and the monastery was pillaged and it was razed into the ground afterwards. When Shen got there, he silently knelt in horror at what had happened at the monastery, and he banged his shaven head in despair on the ground, and roared to the sky a disturbingly beastlike howl.
There were still lingering bandits, and they heard the howl. The bandits turned tail and ran, while the soldiers ran to the source, eagerly smiling; their target was here. They got to the source and saw a dark-skinned, shaven young man with white eyebrows and silvery blue slitted eyes silently crying at the scene. The soldiers, except for one, were moved with pity, but the one who was not moved took silent aim with his bow, and fired. Shen and his two animal friends were too shocked to move, but he was saved by a monk suddenly flash-stepping in and taking the shot. The monk died, but not before turning to give Shen one last smile, as the seven scars on his chest gleamed scarlet from the blood as it flowed from the arrow wound in his chest. Shen’s heart broke in two; he could smell that no other monk had survived, and that monk was the one he considered a father figure the most. He glared at the soldiers with unbridled hatred, eyes shining with tears, and the world slowly faded in blood as he heard his own voice roar in anger.
When he woke up, he saw an Indian man wearing the monk robes of the monastery over a soldier’s uniform looking at him with slight concern, along with his animal friends. The man introduced himself as Danava, and Shen’s eyes widened as he recognized the name from the monks’ stories. Remembering the monks made him grimace, but something in him told him not to cry. Danava then asked him if he would like to go and train around the world with him, as was the monks’ original intention. Having nothing else to do, he agreed, and he spent the next five years travelling around the world, training and meeting all sorts of strange people and creatures, but that came to an end.
He and Danava were attacked while they were resting after a successful mission, and Shen paled. It was soldiers of the same uniform as those of five years ago, and they brought reinforcements with them, demons from Hell. Both sides quickly started to fight, and the duo fought valiantly, along with his fully grown friends, but the tide of enemies was too much. They started to sustain more injuries, and they were overwhelmed. Then they saw the person who was apparently in charge of this, a white man with blonde hair, a huge left arm that was scaled and had shree claws, and a piercing slitted green eye and an eye patch, and he paused to gloat at Shen and said that he was the leader of that attack several years ago, and now he was back for revenge for what Shen, the monster did to him and his unit. That person smiled maliciously and cut Danava’s head off with a stroke, and killed his animal partners next.
Shen felt that all-consuming rage inside him intensify to new heights that he could not control, and his limiter broke along with his roar of ultimate despair. And once again, his world faded into blood, but not completely, and he saw himself unmentionable things (This site is PG13 after all….) to the people around him, and all it brought was a smile on his face which the currently berserk demon mimicked.
When he stopped, he was soaked in blood, his clothes were torn to shreds, and apparently he was clutching something. He looked at his hands and he saw soul stones, and not just any soul stones, but Fei’s and Wen’s soul stones. After a few minutes of just staring at it, he did the stuff Danava asked him to do for him in case he died, and he went back to the base, and saw that Danava’s former squad, before Danava became a mercenary, was waiting for him. They saw his state and asked him what happened, and he told them everything tonelessly. They then bowed their heads and said a prayer to Danava, and cursed the soul of that green-eyed man and his cronies.
They gave Shen Danava’s will, weapons, and the medallion that apparently Danava found on him that day that he was planning to give him on his 21st birthday. Then Shen read the will, which caused him to blink. Apparently he wanted him to add Ranryuujin to his name, and to go to Ho'oh mountain and talk with the current ruler there.
He was taken to see their emperor, who recognized his blood immediately. He apparently had the blood of a phoenix demon, like his half-cousin, even though it is only one half. After an extensive talk, the emperor offered to him a home in Ho’oh peak, and a chance to learn his heritage. Ryuu was about to refuse them on the first part, when the second part sunk in. To be able to control himself, even for just a while, would be a huge boon, so he agreed. He spent 10 years in there, learning all that he could from that area, before he decided to leave and explore the world once more. The emperor reluctantly agreed, on the stipulation that he still consider this place as his home, which Ryuu agreed to.
With that, he started his journeys around the world, fighting wars, meeting new people and cultures, and bringing chaos wherever he went. He did this for the next 3000 years, gaining a lot of experience and discovering a lot of things about himself, especially about his heritage of both his dragon youkai and phoenix youkai sides.
He found a way for his partners, who were in soul stone for to come back to life as his demon familiars. He also gained three new swords: Soul Calibur, Soul Edge, and the Feng de Xiong Xiong Xie . The first two he gained from killing a swordsman called Algol, and the last he received as a gift from the phoenix emperor.
His next destination now, in this era of world development, was go to Japan into the Sengoku era, where he would look for Totosai to forge him a special katana, and to look for more adventures....
