Here and there human couples were walking around this mountain/volcano. They seemed… happy, as they clung to each other and watched the stars as they walked, unaware of their watcher from high above. Their watcher could even hear them muttering sweet nothings to each other, forming a cacophony of a strange emotion fill his heart. With his demonic senses, Ranryuujin was able to sense it all, to his complete dismay. It was very disconcerting to the hybrid as he sat on the crater top of Mount Fuji, his back to the huge full moon behind the majestic mountain.
It only reminded him of the one of the many things he never understood: love. Not just any love of course, but romantic love- the love that maddened many able warriors, scholars, healers, and just about any other profession imaginable, no matter what species he or she may be. Just what is it about this ‘love’ that he didn’t see? Why do others feel this in the first place? Is it not pointless to love; after all, only reproduction matters for the survival of the species after all. If that is so, then why were they- no, we- cursed with that unnecessary emotion?
It would have been much better for the world if they were more like monks he had been raised with. They knew that that kind of love was unnecessary to life, and it in fact drove beings to sin. Hell, it was the second cause of misdeeds, next to pride. He honestly didn’t want any part of that headache either, and for over four thousand years he never actually had the compulsion to break that personal oath to himself. Why was that? Why wasn’t he like all of those love-struck idiots? Was it because of will… or something else- something more?
“This is getting me nowhere, isn’t it?” He asked the sky in a silent whisper in Mesopotamian, his blue eyes narrowed in annoyance. And to think, he even had his two familiars out on errands to China for a week just so that he could be alone for enough time to sort these bothersome thoughts out. Maybe the next day would bring more fruits to his pondering.
The white haired hybrid then lowered his glance to the ground. After giving it a disgusted stare, he shook his head. These stupid humans were distracting him! Why were they out here on a night like this anyway, where they could be easily be eaten by demons? Humans were such stupid creatures; he won’t come to their rescue if something attacked though. It was their fault for staying out. Yep. That’s it.

Miyuki silently approached the crater top of Mount Fuji. She had never seen a volcano before so she decided to take a closer look. She had been by herself for some time but had just been home a few weeks ago, which meant that she had a bit less then half a year left till she had to go back.
She paused to look at the moon, it was as pretty as always. Miyuki smiled. She always took comfort in the presence of the moon and always missed it when it wasn't there.
"This is getting me nowhere, isin't it?" She heard someone wisper. Startled, she snapped her head to the sound of the voice.
She smiled brightly. "Is it normal for people to talk to themselves? Or is there somone invisible your talking to?" she asked, giggling.
She quickly jumped over to where he sat. "Hi! I'm Miyuki!" she said, smiling brightly. She tilted her head to the side slightly causing her almost ancle length black hair to sway. She blinked her golden-brown eyes a few times. Just a habit.
She reached into one of her sleves and pulled out a folded peice of paper before continuing. "I'm looking for my youngest sibbling who was kidnapped a while ago. Here's the picture. Have you seen anyone who looks like that?" She handed the picture to him.
She knew she looked human, but she had no doubt he would be able to smell the truth in her sent.

'Eh? What the heck?' Ryuu blinked as he turned to look at the figure that was giggling at him. 'Was I that preoccupied by my own thoughts that I didn't notice anyone nearby? I shouldn't be getting so lax in this chaotic nation.... And more importantly... how did this Japanese demon know the language I spoke in?'
Ryuu was pretty sure that he had met no other person who knew Mesopotamian aside from Zasalamel; the language was simply too old. Hell, even the inhabitants there have forgotten all about the language, as well as it culture and its people. And to think, most islander demons- like the Japanese ones- don't know much about the whole world aside from their little trading circles. And what they do know was practically twisted beyond belief. So how would she know...? Should he really ask?
Ryuu resisted the urge to blink in astonishment again at the girl, and silently took this 'picture' item. Okay, so it was a tiny portrait made with exquisite detail; was that what these 'pictures' were? Interesting things... he would have to know where she got such portraits! He knew of many people who would be interested in such things... maybe that prince Saffron would get a kick out of this.... Hm....
"I'm afraid that I haven't seen her, Miyuki-san." The white haired demon gave her back the picture with a shrug as he spoke to her in Japanese. "But I must say... that portrait of your sister is exquisite. It looks almost... lifelike; I see no evidence of paint strokes. Where did you get it?" His reptilian blue eyes, which indicated a hint of his own true nature, glittered in curiosity as he asked.

Miyuki was somewhat suprised. Most demons and hanyous remarked on her human appearance tied with her snow-leopard hanyou sent. Miyuki shrugged it off, "Let him think i'm human. Who knows if he can just stand humans and hates hanyous." she thought to herself.
She sighed sadly taking the picture back and putting it back into her sleeve. "I kinda figured you'd say you havn't, its the only answer I seem to get to that question." She paused before continuing. "The picture was made by one of my mother's demon friends who has the ability to litterally put his memories onto paper. We figured still pictures would be better if we have to show humans. We being my sibblings and I. Myself and all my sibblings were sent out to scatter and find her and report back every 6 months." she explained.
Miyuki looked out to the volcano. "Wow, so thats a volcano?" she asked, both wide eyed and amazed.

"So that 'picture' of yours was created by an aquaintance's power? Quite intriguing. May I know who he is? I know of a few beings who may be interested in his skills." The hybrid casually commented as he looked down on the girl from his perch.
Upon hearing the second part though, he blinked. How could she not know what a volcano was? She was in an island! They usually have one or more volcanoes... or at least they do in the Eastern World. "How could you not know what a volcano is? I though you Hanyou were smarter than that." And in their own home no less! Sheesh....
And why was she looking out like that? This entire mountain they were on is the volcano! Mt. Fuji, they called it... or was it honored Fuji? Bah, he'll remember later. He did have an important question though; it would be best to ask her about it.
"Why are you looking for your sibling so hard? Is he or she really that important to all of you- so important that you and your family would go through all this trouble just for him?"

Miyuki took a moment to process the questions and think of the best way to answer them. There was only one way that summed it up properly.
She was going to have to tell him the story.
"It's kinda a long story if I explain it all together, and if i do, it all makes sense. there's no way to simplify the story without cutting out possible important details either, so here it goes..." She took a breath before starting the story.
"Well, I grew up in a small... I guess you could call it a village... in the mountian tops pretty far off. Lotsa snow there.
Mama's protective, possesive, and paranoid, so she never let us out of the village no matter how much Otou-san tried to reason with her. That's why my sibblings and I have never seen lots of things we should have. Like volcanoes and stuff.
The ... village I grew up in, not just one kind of demon there, there's a few. And humans too. There's not alot of us either, so us kids born there never knew the species difference. Never knew this hate humans and demons seem to have for each other. Were pretty severed from most villages and packs and such.
Everyone who lives close calls it the mountian of no return because people go up, but don't come down. That's caused by a few things actually, there are some mindless creatures that live on the mountian that try to kill whoever comes up. Whoever makes it past the creatures and gets to the village either loves the peace and decides to stay, or hates it and tries to destroy us, which leads us to destroy the threat.
I'm not shure which of Mama's friends in the village made the pictures, but i'm shure I can ask Mama next time I go home... which is in about 6 months. I don't know what the powers and abilities of most of her friends are. Lots of the... villagers... are from different parts of the world and speak different languages, I'm so used to hearing most of them that I understand the languages, but alot of the other kids there are the same way.
So back to the explination, not that long ago, some jerk kidnapped the youngest of my sibblings. As in the baby in the family. As in younger then me, and I was born a bit over 16 years ago.
Remember how I said my Mama's protective, possesive and paranoid? Well, to say she lost it and went completely ballistic would be putting it mildly. A lot of my eldest sibblings are pretty protective too, so they decided that all of us that would be able to survive away from home would spread out and search. Turns out most of us were capable.
I'm really worried about the little baby brat. I meen, the kid got kidnapped, and I don't even know what the damn kidnapper looks like. My friends, a few of my sibblings and I had been having a snowball fight not too far from the village so all I have to go on is what those who were there told me." Miyuki explained. Most would probably have hesitated to have shared that much information, but Miyuki didn't see a problem with it, what harm could it do?
(( lolz, srry abt the no gender known for Miyu's youngest sibbling, I'm hoping someone will pick the kid up to play so I made as little info on the kid as possible so whoever picks the kid up can do whatever they want with him/her.))
