Haunt: A place were animals feed.
Pelham, NY. Settled in 1654. The oldest town in Westchester County. It's a small town, no bigger than 2 miles, (well, 2.2 to be exact), and home to 6,472 people. Part of the Revolution was fought here, and some of the buildings still stand from that time-- they all have their stories, their rumors of hauntings. But that's not even the beggining.
Four seperate elementary schools, a highschool, and a middleschool attached to that-- Pelhamites are serious about the education of their children. But no amount of book smarts can protect them from the thing thats preying on them.
While on the outside Pelham may look to be your average, white-picket-fence suburban neighborhood, but there's a dark side too it. Aside from the rivalry between people from different parts of town (the elementary school you went to defines who you are here), the snooping busybodies that make up most of the population, and the incredible cliquey-ness of it all, we've barely scratched the surface.
Dissapearances. Lots of them. Always children. Pelham has a higher number of runaways than any other town in the state-- maybe the U.S. They attribute it to children unhappy with shallow life in the suburbs. That may be the case sometimes, but more often or not it isn't.
Though it's powers wax and wane (growing more powerful every 109 years or so. Sometimes it's early, sometimes late, but it always starts), 'it' is always there. And it's always hungry. And so are it's children.
The spirits of those killed by the creature-- it keeps them, and they become like it. While their flesh strengthens it's body, what it's victims leave behind strengthens it's grip over the little town. And it's everywhere.
And so, in the year 2009, the cylce reaches it's height again.
What will you do to stop it?
