Detailed personality description: Yami typically acts cold and uncaring around those he doesn't know. But he becomes kinder when he is around people close to him. He usually keeps a calm head, though if he gets angry, he typically goes out of control. He is typically always thinking, especially when he is around strangers, labeling them as enemies untill they earn his trust. When he becomes 'hungry' (being starved of any kind of soul for a long period of time) he tends to go temporarily insane. He talks to himself, is angered fairly easily, and loses control of himself; which typically leads him to go on a rampage in his demon form.

History
Detailed Personal History: Yami was born into a "special" type of reptile demon clan. The clan was located near a small mountain containing gemstones which contained a demonic energy. As a child, Yami was taught that these gems, called Sosei Gems by the clan, allowed themselves more power and a kind of immortality. When he was about 5 years old, he began training using his special energy, being taught by one of the most talented demons of his clan.
He continued the training until he was about 50, and obtained a gemstone for himself as a 'gradutaion' gift. At this time, his teacher had told him that the stones only held the clan back and warned Yami not to use such an item. For a time, he listened and kept the stone hidden from sight, saying he inserted it into his right eye. That was until Yami had accidently gotten into a fight over territory with a few demons from another clan. His only way to win was to use the gemstone, so he put it into his eye (only because of the lie he had started at his village.) and used the power to defeat the demons.
A few days after the event, his teacher asked him about whether he truly used the gem or not. Yami told him the truth about how he had to use the gem, that he had no other choice, and that he wished to keep it's powers to help protect himself. Hearing this, his teacher told him the "truth" about the gems. The next day, his teacher killed the leader of their clan, and was marked as a traitor to the village. Yami, not knowing why, vowed to get revenge for his clan, and find out why his teacher did such a thing.
Detailed Version One History: Yami, hungry from a lack of souls, had decided to go and raid a vilage to get some "food". While in the middle of destroying the village, he encountered a young priestess, Sia. The two had a small "battle", mostly just an exchange of words and Yami pestering the priestess. The result ended in Sia becoming Yami's minion, after he threatened to destroy the village. Later, the two of them ran into Monuke, Yami's cousin, while traveling in the forest. Yami, annoyed at his cousin's presence, tried to get him to leave, eventually giving up. They later found a small monkey, of which Yami wished to "eat" due to him not having had any food for awhile. But, with the persuasion of Sia and the monkey (slightly), he decided against eating it. The monkey was later named Chibi-Sama by Monuke and Sia. Later, while walking through a village, Sia confessed to Yami. Not knowing how to react to the confession, though he felt the same way, he simply embraced her.
