Detailed personality description: Ryo does bounty hunter work for the sole purpose of making himself stronger and to gather information. If he doesn't find anything useful in doing something, he usually won't do it if he can't benefit from it somehow. Unlike most other youkai, he won't kill humans when he has no reason to, not finding any thrill in fighting with humans anyways. Ryo never turns down a challenge to fight from another youkai unless they're really weak. It is very rare that he changes into his true form unless it is absolutely necessary, this being because he is unable to convert his body into flames and would be unable to regenerate wounds or flee if he needed to.

History
Detailed Personal History: From birth, Ryo had strived to become stronger and stronger, as to defeat any enemy that crossed his path. after a couple centuries, he learned that one of the best methods for doing so was to do bounty work. He became more powerful from the battles, and he gathered useful information without the need to kill or threaten the humans, which would've attacked him if they knew he was youkai disguised as a human.

While his clan were all sleeping, a youkai with immense power found their cave and slaughtered most of his family. Ryo searched for the youkai and learned that he used poison and could not be touched by mortal weapons. He arrived at one conclusion that made the most sense to him, a youkai named Naraku. He knew that many powerful youkai were afraid of Naraku and they had said he could use poisons made naturally in by his own body. Ryo set out to find this Naraku, with only a guess that it was him who had killed most of his clan.
Detailed Version One History: Ryo participated in one of the early attempts to attack Naraku's castle. It turned out to be a decoy and Naraku wasn't there. But, he and a few other youkai were able to kill Naraku's incarnation, Kagura of the wind. After the battle, Ryo left due to the approaching dusk, losing his powers at night when there is no sun.

Ryo fought a hanyo by the name of Kamba when he went berserk and attacked a human village, seeing as it could've been fun. There were already a few other youkai and an angel miko there fighting the youkai when he arrived. (that thread is still going on on the first site)
