Detailed Personality Description:
Hunted throughout the centuries, deer are shy and easily frightened. Anxious and cautious. The demon counterpart is mostly the same. The shika youkai are very close to the animals they are based on, and most of the attributes are mutual. Merodi seemed to be even more afraid then the others. Anything of the uknown makes her hesitant. She doesn't wander and curiousity does not make her investigate anything. Even so, she is a kind young demon. Hesitant of others, Merodi does not like being cornered. It is a phobia of hers. She hates cages and tends to panic, and mostly lives out alone afraid to trust. The shika female wants nothing more to be brave and strong, and tries all her might to face her fears or meet people.
'Blessed'; as many shika call it, Merodi enjoys singing. Her voice almost magical as they resonate lyrics unknown to the herd. Unknown to even herself.

Detailed Personal History:
Merodi was a healthy, happy, and bold shika child. She was loud, confident, and spent time with her parents. Koru was the leader of the herd, having won against the past ruler a year before his daughter's birth. It didn't take any time at all for the herd to realize the special skill the young girl had. As soon as she could talk she was singing. Humming everywhere she went. She would sing the most rediculous things, the happiest, the saddest, the insane, the over the top songs anyone had ever heard. Now, this wasn't as new as many would think. The 'blessed' were known throughout the time the shika youkai had been around. Rare, but still apart of every herd, they had the power given specifically to them by one of the shika's powerful gods, Soothsayer. God of song. That is why they are called the Blessed Ones.
~The Blessed Curse~
As Merodi got older, she began to act more like a proper female shika. She became quiet, obediant, and standing by the male of her family, which, for the moment, was her father. At the age of fifteen it would change to the mate chosen for her by Koru. The chosen male was Skoll, a close friend and a powerful ally. The older Merodi became, the more uncomfortable she was with Skoll. Thinking of him as an older brother, and suddenly having that change was not what she wanted. She didn't dare voice her opinion to her mother or her father. The females weren't meant to voice such things.
On her fourteenth birthday, Merodi had panicked in hearing her father speak to Skoll about her future. During the night she snuck out into the forest and ran as far away as she could. During that time she made sure to sing to keep herself from being lonely on her own. One of the times she sang she attracted the attention of a lord in the area, who, enticed by the songs Merodi, kidnapped her and forced her to sing to him for entertainment. If she ever denied his request the shika was beaten into doing as he asked. Locked up in a cage as if a song bird, she was kept as a pet for the lord for three years.
~War means Freedom~
Through those years the lord had been in a war against a neighbor lord, fighting for political power and for wealth. The neighbor lord started to get the upper hand and attacked the other's castle directly. Through the chaos Merodi was able to escape. From today, it was very recent and she has yet to look back, to see if the lord is still alive or not. She will continue to run, and make sure nothing like this happened to her again. She would no longer sing, afraid of becoming entertainment for someone else.
