Detailed Personality Description: Kalak always tries to be who he thinks people want him to be. Devious and manipulative, Kalak has become very good at hiding his true nature. He feigns loyalty, and plays the role of the wise old sage, but soon shows his true face if things go against his plans. Kalak can be extremely paranoid and will sometimes lash out violently if he suspects that someone plans to betray him.
In the end, Kalak's sadistic and manipulative behavior stem from the same thing that has driven his entire existence; cowardice. Fear has controlled Kalak his entire life, and it is that same fear that makes him a monster. All his ambition his cruelty, it's all from a desperate fear of death.
Appearance
Overall Description:Normally, Kalak maintains the appearance of a tall, thin old man. A long, tangled mane of white hair flows down his back, and he has a hawk-like, clean-shaven face. While his tan skin is wrinkled and weathered from his age, his bearing seems to suggest that he is younger. He always stands straight, and is just a shade over six feet tall. Purple robes are draped over his frail-looking body, but he never seems to show any of the frailty that would normally come with his age. In his Shoggoth war-form, this changes drastically and constantly. Expect numerous eyes and mouths, but the description will be filled in as he changes.
History
Detailed Personal History:
Born in the Sumerian city of Ur, Kalak grew up in the lower tiers of the court. He was raised to be a scribe and bookkeeper for those in power, and seemed to be perpetually stuck in a position of powerlessness. He spent his life dodging political squabbles until, in his early forties, he was given an important assignment. Kalak's master had been given an ancient scroll by a visiting noble, and Kalak was ordered to translate it. He succeeded, and what he discovered shattered his mind. The scroll belonged to a pre-human civilization, ruled by monstrous gods called the Great Old Ones, who were on a temporary leave of absence from Earth.
Kalak was terrified by this revelation, and used spells dictated by the scroll to contact the Great Old Ones and make a deal with them. He promised to hand the world back to them, and in return they would spare his life and grant him power. Bored, and somewhat amused at the idea that a human thought he could help, the Elder Gods agreed and gave him magical abilities and the body of a Shoggoth, the monstrous workers of their ancient empire.
With his newfound powers, Kalak rampaged for quite some time until a cabal of Egyptian sorcerers managed to subdue him and seal him in a tomb. The scrolls that had revealed the Great Old Ones to him, called the Pnakotic Manuscripts, were sealed in the tomb with him, but over the years graverobbers stole all of them, and they were scattered throughout the world. It was only recently that some were foolish enough to open the casket, breaking the seal and releasing a very angry Kalak back into the world. He has spent the years since then tracking down the scrolls, and has followed the trail to Japan, where he is certain the remaining scrolls are hidden.

Strengths:
- A powerful Telekinetic. He can use this to move objects with his mind, or to create concussive blasts or shockwaves.
- The Shoggoth body is amorphous, allowing Kalak to change his size, shape, and even his mass on a whim.
- Kalak can consume and absorb his weaker opponents to temporarily boost his physics-defying shapeshifting abilities.
- Because of its gelatinous natural form, the Shoggoth body is immune to physical attacks.
- Kalak was intelligent to begin with, and now he has the wisdom of ages backing that up. He is incredibly cunning and resourceful, and has almost encyclopedic knowledge of history, magic, and mythology.
- Has excellent night vision.
Weaknesses:
- Very vulnerable to energy attacks. (Fire, electricity, magic, etc.)
- As the Shoggoth body grows, it will no longer be able to support its own weight, and Kalak will need to use more and more of his telekinetic powers to support it. Eventually, he will reach his limit and his body will collapse under its own weight, unable to move until it dissipates some of its excess mass.
- Physically weak unless he uses his Shoggoth ability to increase his muscle mass. As his strength increases, his magic weakens.
- Weapons that have been marked with the Sign of Nodens (a hand with the Orion constellation on its palm) can harm him as if he were mortal.
Side: Evil.
