It was a beautiful day in the forest that Laurel protected on a daily basis. Wind rustled the leaves on the trees, and the flowers that grew on the ground with the grasses. The sun was high in the sky, and there were bird chirping high in the trees. The forest guardian smiled cheerfully as a bird landed on one of her thin fingers.
She was sitting up in a branch high in her favorite tree, looking out upon a small clearing in the forest. Within her view she could see a small pond and many flowers, as well as a bit of the crystalline blue sky. Although she preferred the dead of night, the day was beautiful as well. But then, to her, there was not a part of the day that was not. She loved everything about this planet, this forest, this haven.
In truth she had never before left the forest, and still had no plans to do so any time soon. And yet she still knew that she loved the rest of the world. And her love had nothing to do with the duties forced upon her by the Gods. "What did you say?" she murmured to the bird, who was chirping madly at her. She had lost attention briefly, but had just now gained it back when the bird nipped her finger.
She listened for a beat, than frowned. "A visitor, you say? Hmm.... strange... I wonder who it is..." Or if they meant any harm. Staying where she was she waited, knowing that anyone to come to the forest almost always came to this clearing, since it was in the direct center of the entire thing.

Kai was running through the forest at his top speed, with him being half demonic it was actually really fast. Trees would have been a blur if his senses weren't so sharp. Kai was actually working out making his muscles work to their best so he could get even better. His long black locks of hair were flying wildly behind him as he kicked off a tree soaring high into the air. It was time to work on his reflexes, or so he thought as he maneuvered through the branches in mid air by whipping his body into flips.
Kai grabbed on a branch slinging himself higher into the air as he continued to ascend. When he reached his peak, he saw a beautiful female in the distance. Kai had his hanyou features completely hidden now. His fur was gone and his canines were withdrawn until he looked like a normal human. Kai landed on a tree branch lightly, as he stood there so survey the distance. Kai ducked back and started dashing from tree to tree gaining speed by each leap of faith. Kai could now smell the female and knew it wouldn't be long before he made it there.
Kai was having fun but he had to remain in control. Whenever he started to have fun the playful wolf side of him came out. Kai descended from the trees. He hit the ground still running and felt the inner wolf in him wanting to howl out as he ran but he managed to control it. Now, he could see the lady from the ground, and he kicked off a tree and sent him flying up and he grabbed a lower branch spinning on it to rebound up the branch landing lightly on here branch. As he landed he smiled at her and said "Are you alright, the forest gets dangerous at night lady. Though, I may look small now I'm gonna be a great warrior one day so I'll protect you." Kai said not knowing who he was talking too.

Laurel let out a gasp when a figure suddenly jumped into her tree, right onto her branch. Unable to keep her balance she tumbled down from the tree and landed on her back. Sitting up slowly she groaned. "That hurt..." she whined. Frowning she looked back up into the tree, rubbing the back of her head.
"What are you doing in this forest? You don't mean to cause trouble, do you?" She sincerely hoped not. She was in no way powerful enough to deal with a trouble maker. And even if she were physically able, she was a pacifist. Non-violent. There was no way she would fight someone in order to protect her forest. Well, she would. But the outcome would undoubtedly not be very pretty.
For the first time she noticed what the intruder was. A man... She shifted uncomfortably. The only male she had dealt with in the past was Nix, and he was not technically human. Though his humanoid form definitely did appear to be.... save the feathers. But.... this one... no, he did not seem human, himself. Nor demon.... a half-demon, perhaps?
Tilting her head to the side she frowned again, confused. What had he meant, by those words? Dangerous? Her forest was almost never dangerous.... save for the occasional demon that wandered in and caused trouble. And... She raised her gaze to the sky. It was no where near night. It was still midday. Looking back up into the tree she said, "There is no need to worry for my safety... it is safe here... and even if there were danger, I would be fine..."
