* I know he's canon, but since this will alter him a good bit, he might as well be considered original as well. *

Detailed Personality Description: Once a small, shy eight year old boy, Souta is now a grown man of twenty. He still has his shy moments, but the change has forced him to grow up in ways that taking on the protector of thier home in the modern era never could. His mind is his strongest point, since he is always thinking and learning. Sometimes, though, this can be his downfall, since he has been told he thinks too much. He has been known to get lost in his own thoughts so much that it distracts him from the real world (ex.: he will over-think various counter attack methods while he's being attacked). He also lets his heart lead him sometimes where he thinks his mind will fail him (ex.: his family, his friends) and that makes him get too personally involved in things that he should've just stayed out of in the first place.

History
Detailed Personal History: Souta is Kagome's little brother. Ever since she first went down the well to the Feudal Era, he has wanted to accompany her on her journeys to see what the other side is like. Every time he was stopped by his elder sister, saying it was too dangerous and to stay home. He didn't resent her for it, he knew she was simply looking out for her little brother. He even worried about her when she was gone for a particularly long time. He still helped her, though, by talking to Kagome's teachers, passing on notes, and reminding her of upcoming tests so she won't fail.
He'd even spent countless hours listening to Grandpa Jii-chan's stories of the old world and how this spell or seal would ward off some random attack or demon, convinced it would work. He never really put much stock in it until the Noh Mask went beserk in their era, finally being defeated by InuYasha, who had travelled through the well to save both him and Kagome. Then he began paying more attention to the stories and the lectures, memorizing everything he could to keep the family safe while Kagome was away. After all, he had to protect thier mother and grandfather.. if he didn't, who would?
Souta even admired InuYasha, looking up to him as a big brother and hero, going as far as to ask love advice from him once - even though the advice was a little shaky at best. Even then, Souta's admiration didn't waver. He's even done his best to repair everything when his sister and InuYasha have arguments that send her packing back to the modern times. Now, though.. now is a whole different story.
Since Kagome has chosen to stay in the Feudal Era and raise her child with InuYasha, Souta has taken it upon himself to visit her this time. Packing everything he thinks he'll need (and even a few things he doesn't think he'll need), he made his way to the opening of the well and jumped in. As he descended, the left over, powerful magic that resides in the Bone Eater's Well overcame him, changing him for good. Changing him from a small, helpful eight year old to a tall, intelligent twenty year old. Not knowing what else to do, he kept on, making his way through Feudal Japan in order to find his sister, InuYasha, and his new little niece (Harumi).
