Exiting the cave, Tsuzuki started on her way to the Ice prison. Getting the wood and crystal first would be eaiser, so she didn't have to worry about spilling any of the water she would also have to collect.
Gazeing out over the rim of the volcano, she could make out a snow-covered forest in the distance.
"Well Yuki, Looks like we found our forest..."
She picked up Yuki in her arms and took off running again down the slope.
less than an hour later, they reached their destination. The forest itsself was truley a breathtaking sight-- a snow laiden forest, their leaveless branches glistening. Tsuzuki inhailed deeply-- it was just like home. The demon tree wasn't to hard to spot either. It was the tallest tree, and thicker than the others. Placed in the centre of a ring of trees, it glowed with crystal light.
Cautiously making her way towards it, she signaled for Yuki to keep her distance-- an injured pup was the last thing she needed.
Padding silently over the snow, Zuki reached the tree.
I'll go for the crystal first.......
Seeing the knothole in the gnarled bark, she reached her hand in to pull it out... Oops.
Suddenly a whole lot of ice shards were coming at her. She quickly pulled her hand back and dropped down, avoiding them. Next it was the blizzard. Snow and wind swirled up around her, but it was nothing she wasn't used to. The only difference to her was that it slightly decreased visibility, but again this was nothing new. Creating a barrier around herself she grabbed the crystal and quickly retreated. Now for the wood-- maybe it would be easier without the crystal.
Still, keeping her distance, Tsuzuki sent her own flurry of ice shards, managing to cut off a tree limb. This Yuki went to retrive, looking a bit like a dog playing fetch.
Now they would have to find the pond.
Stumbling around the sides of the volcano, trying to find the pond took another hour or so. But they did find the pond--eventually.
No for the easy part. All Tsuzuki needed to do was collect a bucket of water. Kneeling down, she leaned out over then bank with the bucket and...
"YUKI YOU LITTLE BRAT!!!!"
Yuki had come from behind Zuki, and, dropping the stick, went running and collided at her with full force. Tsuzuki fell forward and nearly dropped the bucket, and also managed to drench her upper half in ice cold water.
Yuki was wagging her tail and giving Zukki a smug look.
Grumbling and glaring at the pup, she finnished her task and looked back at the volcano.
Here we go again........
