Her father, being a decorated general among horse demons, had a structure similar to her's. He had a black horse body, shoulder length ebony hair, and amber eyes one would think could bore holes into your back. Her mother, the Lady, was a very elegant horse who looked very much like her daughter indeed. She however, had dark purple hair that reached her withers, and a light grey horse body. Her eyes were a dark chocolate coloring. Zen gets her kind disposition from her mother, because her father was actually fairly violent, except around her and her mother, but it was her father who trained her in the art of fighting. In both forms, human and demon.
Around the age of 123, Zen's father went to battle the boar demon general, and even though he killed the pig demon, he still perished because of a curse placed upon him in battle. Zen wasn't quite ready to take the throne, and so she trained more over the years, mastering the art of archery.
A few years later, she decided to take responsibility for her clan and become the general.
