Evanyx (Ookito's staff)

Weapon name: Evanyx

Appearance: A thin staff, as long as Ookito is tall, it is as black as night, but for the veins of crimson that run throughout its entire form.

Power: It is a channel for Ookito's magical powers - she cannot cast spells without it in hand.

Limitations: It works to help Ookito avenge the death of her loved ones and for anyone who wishes to protect the innocent; it will not work for someone (even Ookito) who fights for pleasure or simply to kill another for no reason. It won't help destroy those who are innocent. It also cannot cast spells while completely submerged in water.

History: Evanyx was carved by the shadows of dark magic, from the tree that fed on the spilt blood of Sentin, who had dedicated his life to protecting the innocent. One might say that Evanyx holds all that remains of Sentin's lost soul. It was given to Ookito by the shadows she pledged her life to, in exchange for the power to defeat her enemies and protect the innocent.

Whoops, missed that part.

I don't know the exact words for the spells, as they are poems, and their wording will likely shift. Although the spells will remain the same.

Here is a list of things that she can do (only with her staff in hand):

• Summon beings of darkness to attack/distract her enemies, for a limited amount of time.
  
• Summon tendrils of darkness to imprison her enemies.
  
• Summon tendrils of darkness and manipulate their movements (into such forms as that of a tornado, a mist, etc...)
  
• Throw balls of dark light from her hands.
  

Here is a list of things she can do naturally.

• Howls a song that heals others (not herself).
  
• Transform into a wolf.
  
• Fly.
  
• See in the dark.
  

On a side note, her staff may later reveal itself to have a personality that takes the astral form of a black wolf capable of speaking to Ookito. The wolf will be visible only to Ookito and those with the sight to see astral forms. It will be unable to do harm to anyone - it is something of a companion, really.
