Fire. Heat; such intense flames. She could feel them on her skin, still licking away at her burnt sienna fur. When she looked, there was no fire, only scorched and blackened fur. The only evidence there had been a fire. She stumbled, getting back up and running as far as she could. Away, away. That was all that was in her mind.
Get Away!
Three years. Three long, miserable years in captivity. And all in a moment, she was free. With the burst of flames and cries of pained soldiers. She found no sympathy, no concern. Only herself was what mattered. Only her existance, her survival.
Her Freedom!
And the girl had it. Finally had it. And she felt so hollow inside. Through torturous gasps for air she began to sob. The choker on her neck making it even more difficult. She stumbled again, scraping her knee and she didn't get up. She screamed in outrage, grasping at the choker and pulling on it.
Release Me!
The deer tugged and tugged, but it would not come loose. She fell back, lying on the cold ground beneath her, closing her light brown eyes and tried to forget the world, just for a moment. She lied there, perfectly still. The smallest of breezes tickled her black nose, brushed at her red hair that was now in knots.
Slowly she opened her eyes again, staring at the canopy of leaves over her head. She continued to pant, her mouth and throat dry. She swallowed constantly, trying to breathe through her nose; nostrils flaring. Her ears drooped, and she no longer listened. No longer paid attention.
What was the Point?

The deer girl worked hard to slow her breathing. In controlling herself. She was too loud. Too noticable. Oh, what did it matter? She was too weak to move. Too weak to run anymore. Slowly, oh so slowly, she calmed herself. She was able to start breathing out of her nose only. She swallowed again, blinking rapidly and ears moving quickly. Picking up all tiny noises. She didn't hear anything. But something told her she was missing something.
Slowly the deer pushed herself up. Her arms felt worthless. She rubbed her arms, trying to force some energy into them. She rubbed her legs too. She hoped it helped her. She didn't think she would survive in this place. The girl stood on wobbly hooves. Shaky, her muscles screamed their complaints in being used.
Just a little more Rest...
No time, no time at all. Absently she continued to tug on the choker on her neck. Even took the time to tug on the same type of fabric on her ankle. She whimpered when it continued to mentally restrain her. She couldn't get rid of it. Nothing she did would get them to even loosen!

Honey coated words fell from a fanged smile, and there was something in the little girl's eyes that could tell you without doubt who her sisters were. That dangerous glint, sometimes the only giveaway, the only flaw in the facade. [-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-] Elsewhere in the woods... Aiyana Ozaku was hopelessly lost. Damn that Varjo. Taking off on her again, chasing after some woman-- or rather, half-demoness, for that was what Amara was. But that didn't change the fact that the young mortal was left on her own in the forest. She clutched a rusted metal dagger in one frail hand, carefully looking around the forest. But her eyes betrayed no fear-- her face didn't show any emotion. It never did. And nobody quite understood what went on behind those big brown eyes of hers. Though she did not know it, Aiya was fast approaching the spot where Suzuki had come across Merodi... (Kinda crappy, my apologies) [/ul][/blockquote]

Merodi almost forgot to breathe when someone appeared behing the trees. She gasped and forced back a fit of coughs from choking on air. She kept herself facing the girl, quickly taking steps backward until she tripped and stumbled again. Fear was quick to pump her veins with adrenaline and suddenly her muscles were screaming for her to run again. They always seem to know what to do before her brain did. Her heart was pounding again, and she felt as if she hadn't gotten a small bit of rest at all.
"N-n-no, I'm fine--I'll be fine!" she said quickly. Her mouth was dry again. And she only took the time to speak to the girl instead of running because of the appearance the stranger gave. But surely she should know better. Her instinctual mind was already catching on. She took another step back. Then another. And another. By now she was shaking. Not being able to stay for one second longer she turned and bolted. Sadly, she didn't get far until she ran into Aiyana. She yelped, trying to turn herself to run to the side, or around her, but the ground was slick and her feet came up from under her. She fell forward, landing on her chest and knocking the air out of her. She didn't breathe for a millisecond, but seemed like an eternity, before she began gasping for air. Already she was accepting her death. Here, by these strangers.

Ai let her dagger hand fall to her side, slipping the small knife back into its sheath on her wrist. Suzuki had gone no more than a few steps before she caught the scent of human-- and her little brain was wondering if there was something going on here that she missed. The young wolf suddenly found herself almost wishing her parents were here-- things made sense when they were around, and when they didn't, daddy lobbed their heads off. Simple. Aiyana stood straight again and took a step back, not bothing to glance at Merodi at all-- but rather focusing her gaze on Suzuki. Though Suzu appeared younger, she was much older by far. By over seventy years-- but demons didn't age as humans did. Aiyana had known that even before meeting Varjo. Suzuki halted her jog a good hundred meters away from the prone form of the Shika and the young girl... who was... just staring. It frightened her a little bit, enough to cause the young yourouzoku to growl a most soprano and almost laughable growl. A creepy little thing that mortal child was. Folding her arms and throwing her head back in a display of superiority, called out to the pair, "Suzuki daughter of Kiba, Princess of the Northern Yourouzoku demands you tell me what is going on. Hmph." (damn spoiled little kid xP) [/ul][/blockquote]

Merodi frowned, staring up at the newest stranger. Not going to hurt her, the person says. How would that gain the deer's trust? Words were nothing. They were tossed around so easily. Besides that, there was no way she could trust someone. There was no way her instincts would allow her to trust. It didn't really matter though. She was vulnerable, and it would take little to kill the shika. Her body knew this, understood it, and accepted it. That was the reason why she was suddenly so calm.
Until the girl arrived. Instincts found the demon girl more threatening then the human one. And Merodi jolted up, deciding to stick with the human then the wolf. Of course, she only now realized this. She frowned with the demand by the girl, brows furrowing and found that her voice would not work for her even if she tried to say anything. Of course, she wasn't sure what she was supposed to say in the first place!
