Päällikkö looks around with a bored expression, his purple eyes surveying the area with little interest. He had come to this place in hopes of finding a rare artifact that would have interest him, but that sadly did not happen. This entire place was nothing more than a boring cave, with boring rocks. Sighing with agitation for being a little hyped up he runs his fingers through his raven black hair, giving the place one last look before heading on out of the dreary cave.
Looking out into the morning sun, he scrunches his eyes after being so accustomed to the dark cave after his long hour search. Putting a hand in front of his eyes he stays there for a minute as his eyes get accustom to the bright sun. Once that is done he looks at his surroundings, letting his mind drift around the area hearing for any thoughts to show that there is anyone around here.
Letting his hand fall to his side he steps forward with caution as to not to slip on a loose rock on the mountain, knowing full well that he could never survive a fall down this steep of a mountain. He slowly puts a hand into the air, calling upon the shadows to form a safer way down. Allowing the shadows to form around the area, he forms them in a sort of stair case on the steep side of the mountain. Pretty sure that the shadows are well compact with each other, he takes a small step onto the stair step. Knowing that the stairs aren’t going to collapse underneath him he casually makes his way down the stairs.
He was lucky that he was able to come here; he was so sure that his lord would not allow him to leave for a week. That’s what surprised him, which his lord actually allowed him to leave for a while to travel around for a certain scroll that he is looking for. That scroll that is supposedly on this mountain under some demon’s care. Sadly the demon was doing a fairly well job of keeping hidden and out of sight.
Stopping abruptly; he places his hands on the two long daggers on his lower back. His mind open for the sudden thought that he had heard, his eyes sweeping around the area with caution all the while his face gave an expressionless look. Flicking his eyes around the area, he pulls one of his hands from his long daggers to keep ready to call upon the shadows. With a flick of his wrist, he causes the shadows to try an catch the person’s thought that he had heard, all the while dragging the person out into the opening so he can see what he is up against.

Sess strolled along gently, humming gently to herself in her head. Her tail flickered swiftly back and forth, the barbed tip swaying back and forth. She wore slight clothing; the small black tube top that covered her breasts and nothing more, and the miniskirt that was black and white that barely reached past her hips, and the grey boots and tall black stockings that reached her thighs. Her ruby red devil wings flapped gently, and her reddish magenta pigtails bounced as she danced along through the forest that surrounded the mountain. Her eyes were closed as she moved along, and her scythe was strapped to her back.
But of course, a hanyou could never have any peace. And she was a hanyou. And her human night was tonight. Damn. The shadows closed around her, and she yelped, her eyes wide and her mouth opening up, showing on of her cute, pearly white fangs.
"Waaaahhhhhhh!" She yelled wordlessly as they lifted her up and whisked her away, to drop her at the feet of a shadow demon who had two shiny, sharp daggers.
"Dun hurt meh! I didn't do anything!" She said, cowering. She looked up at him with her priceless puppy face, her eyes watering as she sniffled, and hiccuped. Then she sneezed, and fell over comically. She propped herself up on her elbows, and shook her head, her tail flicking irritably. She looked up at him, and with another hiccup, she thought, 'This dude is hot.'
She didn't realize he could read minds. She was a bit petrified at the moment, being stolen away by shadows for no reason and on her human night. The sun would set soon... She poofed into her child form and tried to look as cute as possible.

Päällikkö merely looks at the hanyou with surprise, one because of her thought and two because of who he caught. Feeling a bit embarrassed by his action, he lets go of his long dagger as he looks down at Sess. Stepping back he gives a slight bow, his raven black hair falling over his face to hide a small blush before controlling his emotions as he stands straight.
“Terrible sorry, please forgive my rudeness miss.” He says with a gentle voice, not wanting to alarm her as much as he has already done. He quickly flickers his eyes on Sess figure, before turning them to her face.
The wind slightly blows catching his dark purple shirt, the crest of the Royal Guards of the Westernland imprinted on his back as well as the crest of the Inu family on his right chest. His black ankle boots scuff the rocks, the shadow stair case long ago faded into the rocks. His right earring jingles as the wind blows once more, the gold cross glinting in the sun.
Paallikko puts out a hand for Sess to grab, so that he may pull her up.
“Are you okay?” he asks gently. “I hope I didn’t hurt you, too, much.”

Sess gave a sigh of relief when he put away the blade, and she readily grabbed his hand when he offered it. She was soon on her feet again, and she had once more 'poofed' into her teenage form, not bothering with her older one again. She winked, stuck her tounge out and gave him the 'peace out' sign.
"Arigoto, mister...?" She said, adding a questioning ring to the end of it. She blinked as a piece of hair strayed to her face and tickled her nose, and she let out a bout of sneezes. Then, after falling backward and onto her backside, she went cross-eyed looking at the pesky strand of hair. Her tail snaked around her body and carefully lifted it out of her face as she gave it the most troubled look she could, as if scorning it. Her tail-tip flicked it out of her way and she once more stood up, her silver-painted nails flashing in the fading sunlight.
"Oh, I'm Sessari Orotoma, but you can call me Sess." She said when she remembered to mention her own name, and she winked again, this time with the eye she hadn't used last time. She glanced at the sky, and at the approaching dusk, her smile faltering. She looked back at Paallikko, giving him a calm grin, but she broke the gaze after a second to look at her sword, to make sure it was there, and she did a swift twirl to make sure her scythe was also present. She didn't want to be comepletely helpless when she turned into a stupid human.

Paallikko looks at the hanyou with an amused look as she reverts to an older form but yet not so old at the same time. He can’t help but give a little chuckle as she starts to sneeze repeatedly and fall on her back, quite comically he would have to say. Watching as she rises up to give her name, he can only smile flashing his pearly white teeth his fangs glistening in the sun as well.
“Päällikkö of the shadows, just Päällikkö.” He says in his deep voice, putting a hand on his chest as he bows with his other hand behind his back before rising again with both hands at his sides. Watching her carefully he notice her eyes straying to the sun and her smile faltering, looking at the sun he notice it setting.
Hmmmm this could be her night, that could be the reason she seems so fidgety with her weapons.
[color-red]“What brings you here to the mountains?” he asks, hoping to stray her mind from the object of the sun. Looking around the area that they were on the mountain, he looks around to find a more stable ground to stand on. Slowly moving his hand in the air, the shadows start to slither their way to the steep rocks, once again making a stair case. Making a motion for her to go up the shadows stairs first, he smiles.
“Perhaps it would be best to make our way to more stable ground,” he says, moving one of his feet to slip on a loose rock. Grabbing on to the closes thing, a habit that anyone would do if they would be falling down 200 yards down a mountain. Unintentionally grabbing onto Sess, he rolls down the mountain to stick his foot on a protruding rock to stop his decent.

Sess yelped as he grabbed her ankle, and she tumbled down after him, coming to a jolting stop hanging off a cliff. His foot had caught at just the right moment, for if it had been a millisecond late, they would have tumbled off a cliff and to their deaths a couple hundred feet below.
"Aaaaiiiiieeee!" She yowled as her foot began to slip out of her boot. And with that, from her back, her wings enlarged into massive, crimson bat wings. She flapped them as she panicked, squealing in fear of the drop onto sharp, jagged rocks below. Eventually, her foot slipped from her boot and she fell, her giant wings flapping. She stilled them so that they acted as parachutes, and she landed gently on the ground in her booted foot, hopping precariously on just one foot as the shoeless one was held up by a bent knee. She looked up and saw that Likko(as she nicknamed him) was about to fall himself.
"Hang on! I'll save you!" She called, her voice echoing up to him. She leapt from the ground, her red wings blazing in the dusky light as they propelled her forward. She reached Paallikko, and she picked him up, her elbows under his armpits, as she lifted him into the air, and gradually flew to the flat section of ground where the shadow stairs would have lead. She set him down, grabbed the boot he was supposedly still gripping, and tugged it onto her foot.
She looked up at the sun with a cry of despair as it sunk below the horizon, and the full moon and the stars that accompanied it were the only ones remaining. She began to glow in a reddish light, and she grew to her mature form, before her hair darkened to an ashy black color, her fierce red eyes calming to a pale, gentle blue. Her wings and tail disappeared, and she fell back down as the red glow faded to blue and disappeared in an explosion of glitter. Her pigtails were no longer spiky, but curly ringlets that fell down on either side of her face. Her skin had grown a shade paler.
She placed a hand on her weapon, her scythe, and prepared for the worst.

Paallikko gave a sigh of relief when he had stopped from his decent, only to realize that he has a grip on Sess ankle. Watching as she slips out of her boot, he panics as he watches her fall down the steep mountain side. In a flash he saw her wings grow large enough to hold her body weight, breathing a sigh of relief at that.
Damn I’m so clumsy today.
“Hang on! I’ll save you!” He hears her yell up from the cliff. He blinks a few times, not really feeling in danger since he could easily turn himself into a bird and fly back to safety; but she seemed to have the need to save him so he shall allow her to save him. Waiting patiently, he watches her come up from the cliff side and flies over to him grabbing him with her elbow in his armpit so as to not fall.
“Well… Arigato Ms. Orotoma,” he says, smiling sheepishly for still holding on to her boot. “Gomen, I seem to be clumsy today,”
Bowing; he slowly rises to see the sun set, looking over to Sess he sees her glow a reddish color and turn into a human.
“hmmm so my assumption was right,” he whispers to himself, a hand to his chin while his other hand cradles his other arms elbow. He silently watches her grab for her sword, walking forward he gently puts a hand on her shoulder. “You don’t have to worry, I’ll know when a demon comes before you can even see it,”
He was trying to be reassuring, but perhaps he is only making things a bit worse.

Sess shivered, the chilly night air now biting on her now sensitive flesh. She glared at Likko.
"That helps. A lot." She said, her sarcastic voice laced with venom. She hissed at him, then sat down and brought her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. She placed her chin on top of her knees, staring defiantly into the woods where she had been yanked from. She sneezed a couple more times, then hiccupped; the routine. She sighed and shivered again, but this wasn't just because of the cold.
Every full moon that she had to deal with this, she felt scared and frightened and alone and weak and powerless. She had nothing but weak human muscles and a couple of sharp blades. She was easy pickings for wandering demons. And just because she was in the presence of one of an Elite Guard or something, she didn't feel any better. What if he turned on her? He seemed like he was looking for something, and perhaps he thought she had it. Perhaps he'd kill her to get to whatever he thought she had, only to find it wasn't there and go kill some other defenseless demon.
And now, she felt horrible because she was cold, and hungry. When she was a demon, she could go longer periods without eating, but as a human, she had to eat. It just so happened that she hadn't taken the care to feed before this night, and had fed a month ago, not a day. She hated her reptile-like qualities.

He sighs knowing that whatever he says would only make things worse, not wanting to really leave her on her own to defend herself; he silently walks over to a rock and sits down on the boulder. Pulling one knee up to his chin while putting the other under his other leg, he lays his hand on one knee the other resting on the other leg. Keeping his mind open to any stray demon, which would sound like ‘FOOD FOOD, BLOOD BLOOD, MEAT MEAT,’ and so on.
Low demons had such simple minds, simple appetites, and simple strength. That’s what made them lower than other demons; they were just so simple to figure out. One demon would come along thinking that because they are stronger than other lower demons, that they are the strongest. Quite wrong, they just have so simple minds that it would only take a few seconds for him to figure the demon out and kill it in ten seconds flat.
Looking up at the rising moon, his head turns fast after hearing what Sess had thought. Clearing his throat he slowly gets up and walks over to Sess, leaning over he waves his hands as the his shadow gurgles for a second before shooting to his other hand that was held out. There as the shadows slowly melted from his hand he held out the bread, some fruit, and a bottle of water.
“I’m sorry if I don’t make things a bit easier for you, and I’m sure you’re quite hungry….,” he trails off only to lay the food down before Sess and walk back to his post on the rock. His mind open once more to the sounds of anyone’s thought.

Sess glanced at him suspiciously, her blue eyes narrowed. What was he trying to do? Fatten her up so he could roast her on a spit over a campfire? Nah, he didn't seem like that barbaric of a demon. She looked at the food. Could it be poisoned? She would never have seen anything, both since they were formed from shadows and because she was an unobservant human. But she dismissed this idea. She doubted he would try such a stunt after she saved his sorry ass. She watched it for a minute, before nodding in thanks, and picking up a piece of bread tentatively. It tasted fresh and good, like it had just come out of the oven. She nibbled on the chunk she'd taken for a minute, before picking up a piece of fruit from the bunch he gave her; it was a raspberry. It was an explosion of flavor in her mouth, and it was sweet and ripe as well.
Soon, she had ate more bread and water, which tasted as if it had just come from a mountain stream, pure meltwater from the very peak. And not long after that, she felt comfortably full, and slightly sleepy. She decided he was trustworthy. The food obviously wasn't poisoned, or she'd be dead by now, and it wasn't bad food either; it was probably the best she had ever ate. She sighed in content, but shivered again. Despite her full stomach, she was still cold, but now she was tired too. Damn human habits. She felt her eyes droop as she shivered slightly again, and yawned.
"I don't suppose you could make a couple pelts appear out of no where?" She questioned. It might have seemed slightly rude, but she found that she didn't mind either way, especially when a very uncalled-for thought popped into her head. The thought was that if he couldn't make a blanket from the shadows, she might just snuggle up against him for warmth. She blushed and looked away to hide it. Yes, that thought was very uncalled for. Päällikkö watched with some mirth at the way she first looked at the food that he had given her. She probable thought that he had done something to it, quite frankly he was going to eat it but he wasn’t as hungry as her from what he could tell by the way she ate the food. Cocking his head in amusement, he subconsciously plays with his two long daggers. Flipping the daggers into the air, he let his eyes stray from Sess as he slowly looks at the area; making sure to keep a firm grip on the area.
Not really paying attention to Sess he, completely missing what she had said before and what she had thoguht. Unsure of what to say; he went over the few minute ago to see if he could remember what she had said. Finally remembering he smiles sheepishly, twirling the long daggers on the palm of his hands before flicking back to their sheaths.
“Gomen, I’m afraid I don’t,” he says getting up walking over to Sess, before sitting down next to her. At least hoping that he can somewhat warm her up with his body heat; he did have a higher body temperature than a normal human’s. Letting his legs sprawl he looks up at the stars, identifying each with pin point accuracy. Looking over to the side at Sess, he smiles a bit.
She’s very pretty
Looking away fast, he looks at the ground again. That thought completely caught him of guard, he wasn’t even sure why he had thought that. But the more he thought about it, she was very pretty in as a human and hanyou.

Sess blushed a little bit redder as he sat next to her, and for a moment she remained very still. But then she tentatively leaned against his shoulder, feeling a magnetic pull towards the warmth he provided. She closed her eyes and sighed, drowsily wrapping her arms tighter around herself. She was warm on her right side, but her left was unattended and cold. She gave a slight shiver, but she was soon asleep.
In the distance, there was a loud crash and a bellow of rage. A massive demon, probably the size of a five story building, was charging through the trees directly at Sess and Likko. The bad part? That it had a barrier around it, and was immune to te shadows and any sort of weapon.

Paallikko blinks as Sess lays her head on his shoulder, but shrugs it off as the need for warmth. Looking up once again to the stars, he stiffens as he hears the thought of a demon long before the crash of trees and the roar of displeasure is ever heard. Cursing to himself silently, he shakes Sess to wake up pulling her up and ushering her into a cave.
“Please stay here,” he says firmly before heading down the mountain with great speed, that’s when you hear the crash and the roar. Pulling out his two twin long dagger, Laow and Taow, he positions himself for a fight. His eyes scan the trees, as his mind counts the distance between them. Keeping on his toes, he quickly puts Laow in his mouth as he jumps to the side doing a one handed cartwheel before landing on one knee, Taow held out. As a tree is thrown at the place he was before.
That’s when the monstrosity comes out, a demon roughly around 560 yards tall with maroon dark skin. Jet black hair sticks out everywhere, as the demon’s blood shot eyes look at Päällikkö.
Well this isn’t the kind of demon I expected in a place like this.

Sess awoke with a start, shaken to by Likko. She was ushered into a tiny cave not too far away, and it wasn't long after he rushed off that she heard a deafening roar and the quake of trees hitting the ground, and giant footsteps thudding against the earth. She scurried to the mouth of the cave, and through the dim light could just make out the figures of the demon and Paallikko. She placed a hand on her mouth. That was a hell demon; rare and powerful, however dumb. They were particularly rare in these parts, and their only weakness was fire from the pits of hell. She could do that, if only the sun would rise faster; it was almost sunrise.
"Stall for me!" She shouted, scrambling out of the cave and climbing up the rocky slope it was imbedded in. Unfortunately, this brought the demon's attention to her, and it made a charge for her, it's long, muscled arms lunging for her. She yelped in fright, but managed to move out of the way before she could be snatched up by the groping claw. She continued to climb steadily, but one of the talons on one of the spindly fingers caughter her thigh, and she shrieked in pain. Bravely, she continued to climb to the highest cliff she could reach, where she would be in full view of the rising sun.

Päällikkö nodded his head as he kept a good look at the hell demon, a little taken by surprise that he went after Sess. Jumping forward he kicked at the hell demon’s hand, not exactly getting any damage done because of the barrier but enough to get the dumb creature’s attention to him. Keeping on his toes, the demon raises his arms up crashing down at Päällikkö. Päällikkö back flips out of the way, throwing Taow at the demon to make sure his attention keeps on him, as Taow only skims the barrier bouncing off to hit the ground.
Taking Laow out of his mouth with his right hand, he gets ready for another attack. Seeing the demon’s attention straying once more to Sess, he curses as he jumps forward to grab on to the demon; only being flung away like a rag doll hitting a tree with a sickening crunch. Päällikkö slowly gets back up onto his feet a little dizzy from the hit before shaking it off and running once more at the demon. Evaporating into tiny black particles he surrounds himself around the demon, after a few minutes of struggle the demon breaks free from Päällikkö’s hold causing the black particles to shoot away and reform back.
“Damn you’re one persistent hell demon,” he says, catching his breath.
