It had been a long time since she had seen the ocean, since she was a child really. She had returned quite a few times, but never really looked out at the sight before her. Her parents had once settled by a beach for a short time, her father had said it was time they settled for a while in a nice place. Those few short weeks had been rather nice indeed, just as he had said. Kira could remember gazing out into the horizon, only seeing water and sky meet in the middle. It had been even better during sunset, when the sky would change from blue to soft pinks and purples and the water would shimmer at the last rays of the sun. As the sand touched the bottom of her shoes she could see the sight she remembered so well from so long ago. It was still as beautiful as she remembered, but it lacked the happiness it had once brought her with it's beauty. Or perhaps that was the absence of something that she no longer had. Even so, the sight entranced her for a short moment before she realized that she had let her guard down.
Ice blue eyes turned their gaze away from the horizon, wandering along the waves of the sand instead of the water. There seemed to be no one here, but that did not mean that there was no one hiding in the trees behind her. Cautiously, Kira sniffed at the air, scenting it in hopes to discover that she was alone. Sadly, all she could really smell was the salt of the sea that she was down wind from. If anyone was behind her they would smell her before she could them, assuming that the person had a good sense of smell anyway. With a sigh she made her way along the water's edge, listening quietly as the waves lapped at the shore. The night would soon come and the moon would be bright, it being a full moon that was to come. But for now the sun was sinking slowly into the ocean's waters, only to rise once more the next day. There was not much else to do but to watch the peace go by, which was something that Kira would often prefer over the troubles around her.
Quietly a soft tune began to float on the air, almost unheard by human ears. It was not often that the dog demoness felt comfortable enough to sing, but if there was enough peace around her and she was alone then it was something that was sure to happen. It was only the tune this time, coming in a small hum instead of the words that should have followed. Her eyes slowly slide closed at the gentle sound as the sea breeze slowly moved her silver hair out behind her. It was a gentle scene to behold something that was probably not often seen in the demon world during these troubled times, but with her own presence it was proven to at least be possible. Almost unheard by human ears. Almost. But it still was. Especially to a particular human girl who had a good ear for music. Sitting calmly in the low branch of the oak tree that bordered the beach, Asami listened to the quiet humming until she caught the tune; then she lifted her silver flute and played along with it, a simply soothing melody that sang out over the sea waves, seemingly magic to one's ears. The harmonic whispers of music carefully caught the wind, entangling it with the lyrics to an unheard song. Slowly, it gained in volume until it filled the air with a hint of mysticality. The girl's face was peaceful as she played her flute; it always brought her perfect synchronization with nature. She simply enjoyed music altogether.
Her purple-tinted black hair drifted ot behind her on the ocean breeze, her short blue-and-white kimono swaying as if to the tune. And as quickly as it faded in, it faded away. Asami's amber eyes opened and she looked at the demoness situated on the sandy shores. Deftly jumping off her tree branch -- she grew tired of Sujo always assisting her off, thus began practicing herself -- and landing barefoot on the edge of the beach. She put on a welcoming smile, and approached Kira as if t were the most natural and least risky thing in the world. She came to a stop, a respectful distance from the demon-woman. She bowed formally, and introduced herself.
"I am Asami Naname. Konnichiwa. May I ask for your name?" She said, in her gentle, almost docile voice. Since meeting her purinsu, Sujo, the immortal, she had grown more bold toward others; especially demons. She knew her guardian angel would watch over her, and wasn't concerned much for her own being any more.

Her humming continued on quietly, slowly being joined by something more. Kira could hear the instrumental music playing from a small distance away, finding it a bit disturbing that someone else was there, listening to her hum and even joining in, but at the same time it was somewhat soothing. In a way it kind of reminded her of her mother who would often join in with her own singing or with an instrument that she had in her possession at the time. Her mother loved music and loved learning to play all kinds of instruments. Perhaps that was where she had gotten her knack for music and singing from. Her father would often just sit back and relax whenever they started such an activity, it seemed to relax him just as much as it relaxed her now. After a moment of mulling over the mysterious person sitting somewhere in one of the trees behind her, Kira decided that if the person wanted to attack he or she would be, not playing music while she hummed.
The wind seemed to constantly be blowing near the beach, it had always been like that as far as she could remember. Her silvery blue hair danced in the wind along with her dark clothing. Kira no longer wore Kimonos, there was just no reason to. She was a fighter and thus such attire would have been impractical. Instead she wore man's attire, semi formal in appearance. She carried many weapons on her, some more obvious, like her katana, than others, such as the kunai tucked away somewhere. As her melody ended she could hear the person approaching her, coming to a stop at a short distance away, quite respectful. If Kira had been some other demon she might have killed the human female, but she had no quarrel with anyone at the moment and had never really felt the need to kill or torture a human like some other demons did, of course she really would feel no remorse if she had to either.
Kira turned a bit, letting her icy gaze settle on the female behind her, studying her ever so slightly. She seemed brave for what she was. "I am called Kira," she said, her voice also quiet, but not the docile quiet as the other female's. Kira's voice had always been quiet and held some sort of gentleness to it, but it had a sort of strength in it along with something of a tone that said she did not care whether whoever she was speaking to lived or died, apathy would probably be the best word for it. Unlike the woman, Asami carried no weapons. None at all; her death would come eventually, and in which way she did not care. Let fate take its course, for it would play out in due time. Besides, even if she was endangered, Sujo would come protect her. Yes, she might be overly dependent on her lover, but as a sweet, fragile human princess, there wasn't much she could really rely on. She had no powers, and she simply hated guards. Not like normal human guards could do much to defend her, anyways, against the perils of the era.
Asami typically wore kimonos because they were comfortable; to her, at least. She wore them every day, since she indeed was a noble. Being seen in anything less then a fitting kimono was nothing less than an insult. But there were always the certain types of kimonos; like the one she wore now. It was a dark, indigo blue, with white sakura blossoms scattered over it. It stopped just above her knees, although the sleeves were long, reaching her wrists and lowering all the way down to her ankles. A red sash held the front together, and her under-kimono was a snowy, clean white. To add to the beautiful simplicity to the kimono, her hair was up in a ponytail that went down to her waist, elegant red and white ribbons streaming down from the tie, and simple lapiz lazuli studs were placed in her ear lobes. She wore three silver bracelets on each wrist, and arond her neck was a silver hoop choker with a dangling red ruby.
"I am pleased to meet you, Kira-sama." She replied kindly, smiling. She turned to the ocean and took several steps toward it, so that the salty waves lapped at her feet, carressing her heels. Leaning her weight to one foot, she stared out to sea. The view, of course, was as beautiful and Kira had descripted, and more. The smudges of purple, pink, orange, scarlet, yellow and blue hovered around the half of the sun yet to sink beyond the horizon.
"Breathtaking, isn't it? The sunset..." She said quietly in wonderment. It dazzled her, as it shone in her eyes and on her face.

Kira had never really been one to rely on anyone but herself. It was almost a rule with her ever since her parents had died. She simply held no trust in anyone else, especially with such things as her own life. There had never been any reason to give her trust away. It was her understanding that trust was fragile to begin with, and that when broken could cause much pain. It was something that she would prefer not to have to go though at all and she would certainly try her best to keep it that way. Unlike Asami she held skill with a weapon and the strength of a demon, but it seemed that in exchange for that she was all alone with no one else to rely on like the human female had. Of course she could imagine that there were plenty of demons out there with both strength and someone else to rely on. Did she pity or envy them? It was a question that she would probably never truly be certain of, never having anyone else except her parents. They were kin though, it just seemed different in the respect she was thinking.
Kira wore no jewelry with the exception of the two necklaces that hang loosely around her neck. They held a half of a broken precious stone each that seemed to be able to reattach to one another. The two trinkets belongs to her parents and it was all she really carried that was left of them. Other than that there was nothing exceptional about what she wore, not really having a rank among anyone unless her father had held one secretly. As far as she had known though, from what she had been able to figure out, he was just an assassin, probably for hire. There was nothing really special about that so she simply just concluded that she had no social status to really speak of except being demon. Being demon made her stronger than humans thus she would conclude that she was higher in rank from most humans around as she could simply kill them should they say otherwise.
A slight tilt turned Kira's head at her words. Most humans would not have been so bold or daring as this one seemed to be, either she was confident that she would not be harmed or completely ignorant of what was in front of her. It was curious to see such a sight, but Kira would allow for it. Instead of giving her a direct response she simply nodded greeting back, as if to say that she was pleased, or fine rather, with meeting her also. As Asami stepped forward the demoness followed her gaze out to the horizon where she had been entranced at first.
"It is just how I remember it, so long ago.." Her cold eyes managed to soften slightly at the sight, but then hardened once more. The sight was quite breathtaking, she had to agree. [/blockquote]
