Have we ever had the discussion about Member of the month, Character of the month, or even possibly Staff of the Month/Employee of the month? The sudden thought just sudden came to me today. Just a question really. >.>

The only problems I see are:
This place hates to vote. Even with the PotW awards, people were on but needed to be yelled to participate. Personaly though, I don't like public MotM votes. It should all be done by the staff.
And unless we do switch to side tables, there really isn't enough room for motm stuff anyway

Yes that's what I was thinking when it came to voting, that the staff memebers be the one to judge who gets the MotM and CotM and so on. It would be much more easier. And Staff memebers of course should not be able to vote for themselves. Which is pretty much a given on the rulse ^^;.
I've also talked to Yuna-sama on the Side Tables, and we may possibly get them. So the issue of there being room might not be a problem. But of course we'll have to have Yuna-sama's part on the issue and such.

For some reason, I just can't see PotW with side tables >.<
Thanks for reminding me though-- there are some things I need to add to next years PotW Awards voting rules to keep things fair, involving who can vote and who can't.

Ah, I forgot my other point about the problem with side tables-- the images used for the header will not match every skin, and would have to be changed every time the default changes-- a lot of work, and it fucks with the custom skins. They could be made clear so the background color just shows through, but then theres no guarentee the text would be readable.

Hai, I can see the concers, but I found a side table code that pretty much goes with the color of the skins. What i mean is that it doesn't fuck up with the custom skins, it keeps with the colors that a person has. So the color and stuff would not be a problem, and it also works with Chatango. Now I'm not so sure on the images though, I gave the code to Yuna-sama. Alright, I finally got around to reading this thread, lol. And now that I have I see that it got really side-tracked. ^^; I think the images that we're using now will be ok, since they match the chatango, but if at some point they need to be changed I can do that without too much trouble.
Also, I have to agree with Zu... this iste really does hate to vote. I think the staff should decide on the Thread for the Month, as for the others... well, we can always try to see if the members will vote on those things. And if they won't, then we'll just leave it up for the staff the next time we do it.
And should we bother doing the Awards for March? Because it's already half over... should we still do it? Or should we just wait until April?

Considering we're already mid-way through March, it would probably be best to wait until the very end of March/Beginning or April to have our first vote. It also gives us time to figure out how we want to do the voting and what not. ^^; As a side note, I think the problem isn't so much that no one likes to vote, but the fact that most of our 'registered' members are not active. It appears we have so many people here but only a select few actually RP~ -cough- >.> And I know my RP-ingness has been quite absent for the last few weeks, and I'm working on it ^^; I swear  ; Anyways~ Those are just my thoughts o.o' |

I'd like to point out about that code Eichi-- ALL side tables will do that if you don't add images to the header. But then they look like crap. My point was that image headers wouldn't match unless the images had a transparent background so that would show through, which could still cause text problems.
And trust me Squee, I ran the awards last year-- even the active ones had to be yelled at to vote. And some of them still didn't.
Wait 'till April, yes, but I really don't like the idea of leaving that stuff up to members-- I'll use the PotW awards as an example. Who EVERY category she was entered into? Sy. Who has a sibling, close friend and (had) a boyfriend on here? Sy. Was said sibling active? Nope, just signed on to vote. I wouldn't be suprised if Lopez did the same thing for me-- so it's kind of not fair to the people who don't have close friends/family to threaten xP

So, should I make the boxheader images transparent? Or should we leave them how they are? And I agree that maybe it would be better to not let the members vote, based on what Zu said.
