Self-Image Poems (Feel free to add yours)

Self-Image. How we see ourselves is often much more different then how we are seen by others. This is how I see myself. If you take a look through my eyes, and are scarred again, well.....i'm sorry i sinned.

Good Difference:

I am one who's different.
I am one who's me.
I do a lot of strange things that'd cause some folk to flee.

I'm 23.
But, what's my age to you?
I do not always act it, though i have a few things due

I am black.
African-American in fact.
It's something that i'm proud off.
I'd never take it back.

I'm not that smart.
But, i'm also not that stupid.
On certain holidays you'll usually find me dressed as Cupid.

I barely visit church, nor always do the things i should
But, in life i won't give up. The little engine never could.

I'm Poor.
Or am I rich? I often do forget.
Money comes and money goes, but my soul is not yet spent.

I'm Well.
Though often sick. A virus living in my chest.
There since birth and gone with death.
I wonder how i live with it.

Call me a Momma's Boy, you can.
I will not argue you a fact.
I'm not a baby anymore,
But, my Mother knows i've got her back.

I'm on my Fathers side as well
In almost everything he does.
He's not a perfect man, who is?
Yet, I am proud to be his son.

You drag my family into shizz
I'll diss your family throughout.
But, Why so serious my son?
Lets let out hatred filter out.

I have no real religion, nor never felt I should.
Maybe monday, maybe someday, maybe simply cuz i could.

Call me an Atheist; you're wrong
But, that's the closest that you'll get.
I do believe that God exists
But, worship's not high on my list.

I am a man with goals.
I am a man with schemes.
And like the late Mr. King, i tell you that i have a dream.

I'm not a drinker.
Nor a smoker. Never had much use for it.
When you see me with my friends
I usually 'Summon The Phoenix'

I've walked the suicidal path
I took a trip down memory lane.
Thanks to my Brother, the same Mother
I'm still right here in the game.

I do my best to help my friends.
I'm an unreliable git.
But, when you're down i'm right here for you
Don't you ever forget.

I'm an Independent.
Not Republic. Such things hold no truth for me.
Democratic, just ain't happening.
I'll just let my verdict be.

I'm a virgin.
I'm a lover.
I'm the one that hardly fights.
But, if Fate has done you wrong
I'll try to help you set it right.

I don't do all that i should
I'm number 1 inside a hood
I'm not perfect
Not the smartest
Not the worst thing from the woods
Our world here is often sad
Bad folks do things cuz they could
Though, I still attest i'm different
Best believe that I am good.

I am who I am

You might know me,
Yet you might not know me,
I am who I am.

I am 13 years old,
Though I may never look or act like it,
I may get good grades,
Even though I don’t try.
I don’t consider myself smart,
Just well informed.
Nor do I consider myself dumb
Just not very attentive.

My parents are from Europe,
Ukraine to be exact.
I prefer to be a Ukrainian,
Not that I have anything against America.

I’m not Independent,
Nor republican or Democratic.
Just, too, young to really have a care in the world.
I’m not very religious,
Doesn’t mean I’m not aware that God might exist.

I tend to not socialize with people,
Only staying with the people I now.
That doesn’t mean I tend to do embarrising stuff,
Mostly out of spite of my friends
I’m not very sensitive to other people’s feelings,
Though I’m very sensitive to my own feelings.
If a man was mugged,
I would try to help.
If a man died.
I would just keep walking.

I love my mother,
To the fullest I can.
I’m a momma’s daughter,
That’s something you don’t hear everyday.
Though she can be insulting, and lazy.
But that’s how I like my mom.

I hate my father,
Who’s a manwhore
Never thought a father could,
Sexually harass his own daughter,
Especially to both of his daughters.
How can he live in the same house,
With the child he tormented sexually every day,
And yet still say that he hates men who do it for the women.

I love my sister, yet I dislike her at the same time.
Tis all good, just family repulsion.
She has a son,
Who love me enough to not leave me alone,
She has a husband,
Who’s a bit to gay for my taste.
Whose also unintentionally called me fat.
What a fag,
but that’s what family is.
Right?

I wake up every morning,
Wondering if my father will ever try anything with me.
I stand in the shower,
Afraid he’ll come in.
I’m afraid to be with him,
Yet I can’t help but have those old
Father daughter bonds together.
Yet I just wish my mother
Would drop kick him out the door.
Instead of having sex with him,
The day I think their having a divorce.

I can be egotistical,
I can be unsensitive
My friends think I’m on crack
If I ever try to be nice for once,
Or just want something
I take pride in my flute playing,
I like trying to be the best.
Other times I don’t give a fuck.

I have problems,
Just like everyone else,
I fall up stairs,
I laugh so hard,
That I tend to go red and cry
I have my dumb moments,
I am a blonde after all.
I laugh at people’s pain,
I love it when people get emotional on TV,
When I ever get mad,
I just start shooting people’s brains out
On games of course.

My friends are a religious cult,
The frown upon on gayness, and stuff.
I wish I could figure out,
Do I want a fuck a guy,
Or a girl if I try.
I hate being looked down,
Because of what I am.
I hate people telling me things to do,
Specially rhythm and pitches the most.

I’m a band geek,
I’m a cheerleader
I’m a daughter
I’m a girl,
I’m a Sesshomaru fan
I’m a writer
I’m a internet freak
I’m a nerd

I am a Part of the Whole member

I might be strange,
I might be a fool,
But overall?
I think I'm quite cool.

I'm selfish and greedy,
Defiant and sneaky.
I don't get much privacy;
My twin takes care of that.
I pride myself in my hair,
Pretty and long,
A dirty blond.

I'm not exactly dumb,
And I'm not exactly modest,
When I say I know I'm bright.
I don't pay much attention,
And my grades aren't that great.

My mom's awesome;
We all know that.
She came marching in,
Threatening to smoke the site.
And why?
So I could stop crying into my pillow that night.

I ain't got no dad;
For that I'm glad.
I don't want one in my life.
I had a stepdad once before;
But he isn't here anymore.
Three cheers for divorce!
'Cuz he ain't coming back to this place.

My sister's a bitch,
Moreso then me.
That's pretty sad,
Considering how rude I can be.
Her name's Lilith:
The demoness from hell.
That title sure does suit her,
And her tinkly laugh that sounds like a bell.

I'm truly an animal lover,
No one can deny;
I live on a farm,
And chickens run a many.
Cats behind every door;
Of mice, there are probably many more.

So let the willows sway,
And let the sparrow go his way.
I'm a free spirit,
So let my wings burst
And fly me away
To a place with no worry,
And living is no hurry.
But I love my place here,
And I'll let others come near;
Don't let them tangle
The threads fate has woven.

I am free,
Just let me be,
Because there is always a path for me.
