Honey colored eyes fluttered open as the young woman slowly woke up. For a few seconds she wondered if she was still dreaming of the past--of being back with Inuyasha and the others in the Feudal Era. However, when she felt the dull throbbing on the back of her head, she knew that she was not asleep.
Bolting upright, she gasped, covering her mouth with her right hand. The pain in her head intensified at the sudden movement, making her wince in pain. She vaguely remembered what had happened, although she wasn't sure she believed it. Utsugi was dead, wasn't she? And she was the only one that Kaname knew of that could use the spell that brought her back the first time.
-Flashback-
"Kaname, could you get some more charms for me?"
That had made the second year high school student smile sadly as memories flooded her. As she made her way to the store house to get the charms, she thought about the last time that she had gone to look for them. It had been the day that she had traveled back to the Feudal Era, and met the people whom she would later call her best friends.
But now, the store house wouldn't let her back into the past. She knew why, of course. It hadn't been the building itself that had taken her back--it had been Utsugi. Still, she had tried to go through the floor in the house many times, to no avail.
Entering the store house, she was greeted with the same sight as always; nothing looked out of place, and nothing looked even remotely different from usual. As she stepped toward the shelf where the box of charms her mother asked for were kept, she heard a strange noise that sounded similar to a gong. She turned, looking all around her for something that could have made that sound. Seeing nothing, she shook her head, figuring she was just imagining it.
When she heard it again though, she was sure that she wasn't. As she turned a second time to search, she suddenly felt herself falling, as a blue light surrounded her. The last thing she saw was the box of charms falling down above her. And then, nothing but black.
Shaking her head a bit, a hand placed on the lump that had formed on the back of her head--from falling, she supposed-- before standing up. It didn't make sense. Was this even real? Maybe she had become so desperate to return to the Feudal Era that her mind had created this when the box hit her. Maybe she really was unconscious, and her mind was just fabricating the pain that she felt.
But as she looked around more, she couldn't help but think that just maybe this was real. Maybe... she hoped it was anyway. But if so, where was she? She didn't recognize the forest that she was in. Could she be in a different place then before? She took a few steps to the right, the same direction that she remembered going the first time that she was in this era, but stopped short, coming to a stop. She had no idea where she was going!
"Oh, drat! Where am I?" she wondered softly, blowing out a sigh as she looked around some more. She hoped that she would run into someone she knew, though she wondered if they would recognize her. She did look incredibly different. Her hair was now half-way down her back, and she even wore small crystal drop earrings. She had definitely grown at least three inches these past two years, but her voice remained almost exactly the same.[/blockquote]
