;;Nightfell White paws with black claws padded into the damp marshlands, mud suckling at them, urging them to join the many other small creatures that could not escape the bog themselves. Miraculously, the chalky paws continued on, not allowing their canine master to be sapped into the sludge. Large sky sapphire orbs with two sky blue lines underneath darted this way and that, grey, white and black harks pitched forward to pick up the sounds that nature threw out, and the sounds that other creatures gave off. The heartbeat of a mouse several yards away, the hot breath of a swamp dragon as it slunk into the muck almost a mile away. The dire wolf heard them all, and his nose picked up wonderful scents too. The blood of a deer, so fresh and young, after being cut on a bramble. Earthy scents of coal beneath the ground. The senses were all amazing, as Nightfell, the alpha male of the Lever De Soleil pack, stealthily made his way through the mud. Soon, the depth of the swamp's waters began to increase, and soon he was swimming instead of wading. But that was short-lived. Not moments after, his paws hit solid ground again, as grimy as it was, and even more shortly he padded onto dry land. He continued up the incline, the dirt and mud on his pelt gradually wearing away once more. He came up on a hill, and a black figure appeared from his shadow. "Hello, Night-sama." Nightfell smirked, turning. "As alert as ever, are we Shadow? Good on you." He replied with a grumbling chuckle. Shadowtail grinned, nodded politely, and disappeared into the shadows once more. Night turned, heading toward camp.
Camp consisted of a large valley with several burrows and caves built into the steep walls that surronded it. The walls were slopes that sharply angled downward at about fifty feet high, the walls facing the outside of the camp so nothing could enter, unless they went to the entrance, a large archway with long dangling vines covering it, each vine equipped with thousands of thorns. It would part if Night, a guardian, or Ivory decided to make it. Ivory was posted there at the moment. Nightfell walked into the area, branching off to Highrock, where he would often call meetings. The large rock was beneath a monstous willow tree, and Night smiled genuinely, jumping up into the tree and sitting on a thick lower branch. He laid down, balanced like a cougar, and he subtlely fell into a doze. [/blockquote]

((Sy, have you ever read the Warriors series by Erin Hunter?...))
"Awwwooooooo!" "Yuki, stop that racket." "AWWWOOOOOO!" Tsuzuki's tail flicked back and forth-- A sign she was irritated. "Yukiko, don't draw attention to us. I've had enough company for one week." They were walking through an an area that smelled strongly of wolf, and Yuki seemed quite excited about it, being has she wouldn't stop howling.
Around them, the marsh was quiet. Aside from the rustling of the breeze through the plant life and the occasional sound of another creature sloshing its way through the mud, and of course, Yuki's incessant howling. But now she had stopped...
Without warning, the pup dashed away from Tsuzuki, deeper into the swamp. Tsuzuki stood there for a minute, dumbfounded, before taking off after her, splashing her way through the mud and water. Yuki's going to drown herself in this mud! Or get eaten by something. How did I end up with the job of caretaker? She's going to get me killed one day...
Meanwhile, on the other side of the marsh....
The droning sound of mosquitoes was starting to get on Koto's nerves. He swatted at them, to no avail. He was covered from the waist down in mud and muck. "Zu, we're going back now. I've had enough of this. There's no reason for us to be here." Zu gave her brother her best puppy pout. "That's not going to work on me and you know it. Come, Zu." Zu was standing on the other side of a large water hole. Mud sucked at her ankles, causing her to constantly pick up her feet and shift her weight. "But there's something living in here, I'm sure of it. I want to explore." She folded her arms. "Stop being such a joy kill. You used to be fun." "That was then, this is now. Let's go." But much like Yuki, Zu too took off into the depths of the swamp, and, like the good brother that he was, Koto took off after her.
Little did they know that all four of them, Tsuzuki, Yuki, Zu, and Koto, were headed straight toward the camp of the dire wolves...

;;Shadowtail
The sounds of two people sloshing through the muck and grime was easily detectable in the desolate swamp, so all the more reason that the black and grey brute heard them. He'd dove into the shadows instantly, and had surfaced out of the shade that the running wolf demons gave off. A male and a female, both appearing quite young. Shadow bolted, making it ahead of the pair easily, and skidding to a halt in front of them, mud splashing up from his heels. His large bulk blocked the path, and he braced himself to take any impact that the other two might make, since they were still running. "Who intrudes on the territory of the Lever De Soleil Pack?" When he said the French name of the pack, he said it fluently, as if he knew some of the language. He glared, his large grey eyes accusing of an unspoken crime.
;;Cissa
The multicolored wolf was only out hunting for some of the marsh elk, when the 'Awoooo's that made up a sequence of howling calls entered her harks. She figured it was just Indigo, on one of his 'perilous quests', and paid it no mind, but it sounded a bit different, so she howled back, her mature vocals covering a long distance. "Hello? Are you Indigo or someone else?" She asked in the call, before bolting off quicker then lightning. She skidded to a halt on dry ground, not far off from the camp, and squinted her amber eyes to see if she could see anything. Then she saw a little white head bobbed above the murky water, and an albino following. She took a whiff of the air, ignoring the familier wolf scents and the smell of swamp, and picked up the scent of the two; a wolf demon and a demon wolf(yes there was a difference). She let out a bark, letting herself be known.

Zu had turned her head to shout at her brother, "Hmph. You'll never catch me!" Though he had been closing the gap rather quickly. Turning back around, she was shocked to see a large wolf blocking the path. She made her best attempt to stop, but ended up falling forward and sliding through the muck and mud, stopping right before colliding with the huge dark form. Koto, on the other hand, being the more coordinated of the two, and also having more time to prepare, slowed down enough to be able to stop and stay on his feet. He reached down to pull his grime covered sibling to her feet before responding to the wolf. Lever De Soleil?..... "I am Koto, an this is Zu" He averted his eyes from the dire wolf's gaze, instead choosing to look at the ground. "I apologize for trespassing, I was trying to stop my sister-- she decided she wanted to explore the marsh" He shot her a somewhat nasty glance through narrowed eyes, but Zu was too busy pouting to notice. Covered in sludge, she looked every bit as miserable as she felt. "It's not my fault", she grumbled. "You should have stopped me sooner then". ------------------------------------------
When Yuki heard the responding call, she stopped again, over sized puppy paws causing her to almost stumble, and called back. "I'm not Indigo, I'm Yuki. Who're you?" She started running again in the direction of the howl.
Tsuzuki was pretty close to catching Yukiko at this point, when she heard the howl of an adult wolf-- asking something about Indigo. The farther she ran, the more she could smell wolves-- many of them. I suppose there must be a pack living here. Indigo must be one of them
She caught up with Yuki right as she reached an area where the ground was dry and solid. A bark came from somewhere close by, and Zuki turned to see another wolf. Yuki padded right over to her, her little white tail raised. Her high pitched yaps and barks filled the air. "Are there any other pups around? Anyone want to play? huh? huh?" Tsuzuki walked over and picked Yuki up, who squirmed uncomfortably in her arms. "Yuki, show some respect", she growled softly "My apologies. I am Tsuzuki, and as you already know, this is Yuki. She's just a bit excited as she's not used to meeting other wolves."

( Sorry for not responding to that about Warriors; Yes, I have read it, I have a few books in my possession. ) ;;Shadowtail
Shadow listened intently as the wolf demon Koto explained himself and his sister. He nodded appreciatively. "I am Shadowtail, one of the Pack's Guardians. As long as you pose no threat, you may be free to roam." He stated, and lifted his head to howl. There was another responding howl, and he flicked his harks. "Also, Zu, I believe apologies are in order for mucking you up. We have a couple elemental wolves at the camp, if you'd like to follow me. Unless you guys want a ride?" He offered kindly, turning his side to them. He was easily big enough to carry both with no problem, for he was taller then them both, being five foot five inches at the shoulder. Zu was a great deal shorter, over a foot less. He knelt down, so the two could mount.;;Cissa
The maroon and grey she-wolf Bowed her head slightly. "No worries. I'm Cissa." She glanced at Yuki with a playful smile. "Of course. Indigo is the only actual pup in the pack this year, but she's been dying to have a good romp lately. I mistook your voice for her's because you both have similar howls, both being little and all." She replied. She nearly danced in place, wondering where the hell Rizuma went. She knew Night-sama would understand why she wasn't hunting at the moment, but then he'd take it out on Fuzzball. She chuckled mentally; she'd given Rizu that nickname himself. Hey, it was his fault for being a little cotton ball. [/blockquote]

((I only asked because the camp you described reminded me of one of the camps from the series))
"I thank you for the offer, Shadowtail-San" Koto dipped his head out of respect and nudged Zu to do the same. "Thank you, Shadowtail-San" Koto let Zu climb on Shadowtail's back first-- he supposed if anyone were to fall off, it would be the one in the back, and he could only imagine the tantrum Zu would throw if that happened. It wouldn't be pretty. Zu gripped the fur around his neck, trying to be as gentle as possible. She was amazed at the size of the wolf. "Excuse me, but what kind of wolf are you? I've never seen anyone your size" Koto elbowed her in the back as he climbed on, signaling to Zu that she was being rude again, though he was asking himself the same thing. ---------------------------------------------- "Another pup? Awesome!" Yuki gave another happy yip and started running around in small circles, almost as if she was chasing her tail. This time though, her overlarge paws did get in the way, and she toppled forward. Tsuzuki tried to stifle her laughter, but it was nearly impossible. Little Yuki seemed unphased though-- she got right back. "So, where is she?"

;;Shadowtail Shadowtail waited until both wolf demons were mounted safely on his back, and once he was certain they were stable, he stood, legs hoisting him up. "I, my friend, am a Dire wolf. We're bigger, stronger, and faster then any other breed of normal wolf. We even compete with your race." He said, slightly sounding as if he were bragging. He cleared his throat modestly, and then began trotting in the direction of the camp. "Hold on tight," He said, beginning to lope in the direction of a tree's shadow. The three were soon enveloped by it, and would find themselves in a world colored in greyscale. Now, instead of the trees having shadows, they had lights in place of them. Shadow bounded through the colorless world, minding his footing and not touching any of the light-shadows. Soon, they came upon the half hill walls, the sheer edges facing the sky. At the entrance, a wolf was standing guard, as colorless as everything else. In the normal realm, Shadowtail did have a shadow, although he couldn't really be seen. Ivory, the guard and beta male of the pack saw the shadow, and since he was accustomed to it, he stepped in front of it. In the shadow realm, Shadow came to a halt. Nearby, a rock with a particularly large shadow stood, and so Shadow moved towards it. He emerged on the other side of the shadow, on the dark face. Ivory grinned. "Nice try, Shadow-kun. Who are they?" He asked, nodding towards Zu and Koto. "Friends. Now get a move on," He replied, holding his head high. Ivory grumbled something, stepping to the side as Shadowtail entered the massive camp.;;CissaCissa watched Yuki with amusement as she ran about in circles, however ending up in a heap. Chuckling, she looked at Zuki. "Back at camp I presume. Hello Fuzzy." She said, ending with a greeting to the little white furball who entered, his paws freezing some of the mud to ice. "Tsuzuki, Rizu. Rizu, Tsuzuki. Yuki, Rizu. Rizu, Yuki." She replied, and sat down, nudging the little fluffball with a paw as large as his head mockingly. She knew that he had a larger and more hellbound form, however she could easily outrun either form. [/blockquote]

"Huh. I've never heard of Dire wolves before...." Zu leaned over Shadowtail's neck to steady herself, and Koto did the same. The ride to the camp was fairly uneventful for the two of them... Zu almost fell once or twice, and though Koto could feel himself jostle occasionally, but managed to keep his seat. He was more interested in the scenery-- a strange landscape, but at the same time beautiful. Once they arrived at the campsite, Koto was overwhelmed by the scent of wolf-- he then noticed the one standing by the entrance. He opened his mouth to respond, but Shadowtail already had it covered. Once inside, he was again amazed at the sight. Quite different than the caves the Yourouzoku lived in. --------------------------------------------------------- "Hello, Rizu-san" Tsuzuki dipped her head, while Yuki bounded up to him, her little tail wagging again. "Hi Rizu-san!" Then she turned back to Cissa and Tsuzuki "Can we go back to camp? Pleasepleaseplease? I wanna meet the other puppy! Can I?" Tsuzuki shook her head "Yuki-chan, That's up to Cissa-san" She nodded to the other wolf "You are being incredibly rude by the way, Yuki..."

;;Shadowtail
Shadow smiled, then barked something to a random dire wolf, who went to go get a water manipulater. They came back with Senko, and then left again. The blue wolf who had muddy brown paws smiled, greeting the pair with a nod. "Hello. I'm Senko. I guess you're gonna need a bath?" She grinned, before a large hovering bit of water floated over from the clean pool. Shadow sat down, causing the two demons to get off his back before bolting away. He didn't like water so much since he manipulated electricity. Senko then dropped the water over Zu and Koto's heads, soaking them, and also getting rid of the mud. She smirked, sitting down.
;;Cissa
"Ah, it's okay. Indigo and her little tricks are a ton worse. And sure, we could go back to camp. Unless, of course, Yuki wants to maul little Fuzzy here." She snickered, nudged the little white ball of fuzz towards Yuki, laughing. She loved teasing the little bastard, unless he was in his hellhound form. Then everyone turned to run like hell if he was mad at him. Except Shadow, Night, and Ivory. And Jack too... ok so not everyone did. [/blockquote]

Both Zu and Koto shivered and squeezed their eyes shut as they were fully drenched with liquid. "Thank you, Senko-san"For once, Zu remembered her manners, and the two replied simultaneously. Her good manners didn't last though-- she decided that the best way to dry herself was to shake in the classic canine fashion. Sure, it got some of the water off her, but she also managed to get most of the dirty water on Koto. "Thanks a lot Zu...", He grumbled, giving her a dry look. Sure, he loved his little sister, but she was spoiled and sometimes hadn't the sense of a pup. He hoped she hadn't gotten any of it on Senko... ---------------------------------------------------- Tsuzuki dipped her head "and the same to you, Rizu-san" Yuki, not being all to choosy, pounced on Rizu, trying to knock him over. "I don't care I just want to play... How about we all play together!" She started wagging her tail again. Tsuzuki just smiled at her Ah, puppy logic.

Senko laughed as she was splattered with muddy water. She held a paw in front of her face defensively, smiling a big, wolfy grin. "... Hey!" She chuckled, before lifting her paw again and prodding Zu in the ribs teasingly. She didn't mind getting splattered; She could just go swimming later in the only clean water source for miles; a small lake. She snickered as another bout of water dumped on Koto, since his sister had splashed the dirty water on him and mucked up his bath.
----
Cissa glanced over her shoulder at the fluffy wolf. She sighed, and flopped down on her side and began rolling like a horse, trying to dislodge him from her back. She hoisted herself back up, shaking herself before sitting down once more. She poked Rizuma with her paw again. "Hmm. Maybe I should just feed him to the rabbits..." She said, smirking as she mocked him.
