Breathing a sigh, the young Shikigami wielder stared down into the depths of the well, seeing nothing but pitch blackness. She smiled slightly as she remembered the first time she saw the well.
"One... Two... Th... Th..." She was unable to finish the third number. Just the thought of jumping into the well frightened her senseless. If she said three, then she would have to do it.
"Three, right?" Inuyasha spoke from behind her, and before she knew what had happened, she felt herself being pushed forward into the well.
She giggled, shaking her head. It was funny now, but at the time, that had been terrifying. She had been really shocked when Inuyasha had pushed her down the well. She hadn't been so shocked when nothing had happened though. The idea that a well could actually take her back to her own time had been a bit over the top after all.
"I know you're there, Inuyasha," Kaname said after a few more minutes of reminiscing.

Inuyasha jumped down from the tree.
"Feh! Maybe i am. What of it? What are you doing here?" The Dog-half demon asked of his old friend.
He knealt down next to her, staring at her with his intense amber eyes.

"I honestly don't know what I'm dong here..." Kaname sighed, before giving him a faint smile. It was good to see him again, even if he was still rude. "I fell down through the floor in my family's storage house again. I had hoped that Kaede would be able to help me find out why, but she doesn't know."
She had gone to visit the old priestess earlier that day, but that had, as she had just admitted to Inuyasha, been a futile effort. "According to Kaede, the only person who might know why I was sent back again would be Grandpa Kakaju..." She smiled sadly, tears glistening in her eyes as she thought about the old man who had helped her so much the last time. "If he were still alive, that is."

Inuyasha frowned at that.
"Inherit clumsiness aside, what do you plan to do? If the only person who could help you is your deceased grandfather? By the way, i'm sorry to hear about that. I know what it's like to lose someone precious."

Kaname sighed, running a hand through her much longer hair. She had been tempted to get it cut so many times while growing it out, but now that it was long, she was glad that she hadn't. She liked it this way, even if it wasn't very much like how she used to wear it. She couldn't stay the same forever after all, even if she wished that somethings would. "I know you have, Inuyasha... I'm really sorry..."
She lowered her hand and sighed again, before smiling faintly. "I don't know what I'll do... I guess I'll just stay here for awhile. I mean... I really do like this era, and honestly, I don't know if I want to go back to the present."

Inuyasha leaned against the tree next to her. There was a gentle breeze blowing through the forest and it ruffled the Coat of the Fire-rat that he always wore. His log silver hair was swaying in the wind, but Inuyasha hardly paid it any attention. He was used to that happening.
"It's not going to be much better for you here," He informed Kanami. "It may seem peaceful now, but Naraku and his demons are still around. He'll eventually find some way to stir up trouble, especially once he hears the news."

Inuyusha turned and smiled at Kagome. He strode over to stand next to her, looking her over for any signs of recent demon attacks.
"Hey yourself, Miss Priestess. You doing okay?"

Kaname laughed softly, brushing her hair behind her ear as it blew into her face from the wind. "Well then, it won't be much different from last time I was here. Except this time I'll already know how to use Shikigami."
She smiled slightly, her face brightening when Kagome arrived. "Kagome, it's so good to see you again! I'm Kaname Kururugi. Remember?" She didn't know if it was really necessary to introduce herself, but she wasn't exactly sure that the other girl remembered her. And even if she did, the shikigami user did look a lot different from her former self.

Inuyasha chuckled.
"Alright. I can never be sure with you."
He turned back towards Kaname, silently watching her and Kagome exchange pleasantries.

Kaname smiled slightly. This was nice, to be able to see her friends again. Of course, it was a bit sad as well. She was constantly reminded of the last time she was here, as well as her own home, and her friends there. Even if she hadn't felt very close to them lately, they were still her friends, and had been for so much longer than anyone from the Feudal Era. She had been gone from this era for so long, and she had really changed from the scared girl that she was when she had first arrived in this strange era. She had been constantly afraid of demons, or anything abnormal or strange to her, for that matter.
But now she was much braver, and was no longer afraid of demons--though, she couldn't be sure of that for certain, since she hadn't seen a demon in a very long time. None in 'The Present', and since returning to the Feudal Era, she hadn't run into any either. Well... none that wanted to hurt her anyway. She had met a few demons that had been nice, or at the very least, courteous. After all, to her, any demon that hadn't tried to kill her for the Shikigami was courteous. And those demons that she had met hadn't even attacked her at all, let alone attempted murder.
She was also much more serious than she had been back then, and definitely not nearly as naive as she used to be. She remembered her crush on Inuyasha and almost laughed out loud, barely managing to keep from doing so. She wasn't sure when she had developed the crush on him, or even why for that matter. She was sure though, when that crush faded, and she developed mild feelings for his older brother. Wow... she thought with a mental laugh. I really have a thing for dog demons... they are really attractive. Those gold eyes... and that long silver hair... I bet Sesshomaru's hair is even silkier and softer than that boa he wears.
She gave herself a mental head slap to stop that particular train of thought. She wasn't, after all, one of those schoolgirls who developed crushes and then swooned, fantasizing about the person they liked. Although... she had thought about Sesshomaru a lot after going back to The Present. And now that she was back, she could see him again. If he didn't hate her, of course. And it wasn't even as though he would ever get feelings for her. She was just being silly. Still...even knowing that, it was hard to forget what she felt.
"You two really get along now, don't you?" Kaname asked finally, smiling again. She leaned back slightly on her heels, her hands clasped together behind her back. Her eyes glittered slightly with amusement. "You don't seem to be fighting nearly as much as I remember."

Inuyasha raised an eyebrow at her sudded question. Then he cast a curious glance over at Kagome. Were they really all that different from how they were in the beginning? He didn;t really feel any different and he certainly didn;t look any different.
He thought back for a moment to the old days. He admitted he'd hardly been civil when he first saw Kagome. He'd actually tried to kill her when she'd freed him. Not to most noble act, obviosly, but she looked damn well like Kikyo and some of his senses were still foggy after 50 years of disuse. Though, thanks to those infernal beads, he'd been woken up quick.
Even after he realized that Kagome wasn't Kikyo, she still proved to be as annoying as the late preistess had been. Not to mention incompetent when it came to the most basic battle skills. She'd even shattered the Shikon Jewel leading to the highly annoying, year-long ritual of seeking out the shards.
Though, after getting to know her better, he started to find the good parts about her. The same kind of traits that had originally attracted him to Kikyo. She never gave up, even when Kikyo came back to life and tried to drag him with her to hell. That had not been pleasant. Her skills in battle improved vastly as she became more intune with the part of her soul that was souly Kikyos. There were even a few times when she'd saved Inuyasha's life.
This went on for months. There would still be an argument between them every now and then and she'd 'sit' him and storm off. But........she always came back. She never gave up on him even when dozens of others would have done so gladly. She never looked at any other males, even the smooth-talking Miroku, whether or not Sango was in the picture. Not even the friendly, annoying boy from her own time nor Koga of the Wolf Demons of his.
Then he'd had his heat cycle. Something that lain dormant for 50 years, only to creep back up in him. Then.........they'd mated. Then........that one night. That picnic. She'd.....actually removed the prayer beads and released him from her spell. She finally trusted him fully.
Inuyasha chuckled, shaking his head at this sudden trip down memory lane.
"Maybe we have. That's not a problem though, is it? We could always try to annoy each other more if it's what everyone expects."
