Life is good...
Flames danced in Mizuki's eyes as she sat on the village wall. All around her flames were devouring the village, the livestock, the people, and everything they owned and held dear.
All attempts to quell the fires, doust the flames were futile. With Mizuki there pulling the strings, it would be nearly impossible. There only hope at this point would be some very powerful, good samaritan elemental demon, controlling either ice or water.
Like dear Tsuzuki-nee-san
But there was no way in hell Tsuzuki was coming. Not only would the flames and the fact that her sister was there be a huge deterrent, but Zuki didn't help humans. She didn't like humans. She felt she was above humans.
The screams and shrieks of the villages fell on deaf ears-- Mizuki was thourouly enjoying this. In that respect, she was like her sister. Maybe a little less psychotic, less cruel, and less sadistic than her older sibbling, but Mizu liked destruction too. But she didn't go around having parties with the corpses of her victims-- Mi was still quite shaken over that encounter. Not only her sister's behavior, but her 'friends' too. The little witch girl with the zombies, for one.
At least these bodies will be too burnt to bring back... If there's anything left of them anyway...

Life is good
Kurayami felt relaxed as he rode Varon through the forest, his gaze turned skyward. He listened with a smile to the sounds of the forest, and he sighed, pleased with the peace all around him. He lifted his helmet's faceplate, smiling at the sunlight as he took in the smells of the forest itself.
For years he'd wandered peacefully, his only conflicts being with bloodthirsty demons and the once-wild Varon. And he had always relished the peace that came when he ventured into a forest.
But today, he smelled the stench of fires and death in the air, and it grasped his attention.
"Varon, move out. Lead us to the source of the fire."
The Nightmare took off; Yami leaned into the wind, keeping his profile low enough to allow Varon to move at top speed. Within minutes they'd reached a burning village, and Yami growled angrily at the scene before him.
The peace here has been shattered...
He drew a pair of large swords, the blades easily as long as a human child aged 11 years. He held up the simpler of the two, and focused on it.
"Lend me your power, Bure-dotousoumi!"
With not but a single swing, the sword produced hundreds of shards of ice, with most quenching the flames throughout the village. Using the sword again, he put out the remainder of the fire; he looked around, searching for the entity responsible for what he'd seen.
"I can smell your presence, youkai. You smell like brimstone...and it is very displeasing."

The wind which had before fed the hungary flames now blew a new, unfamiliar scent toward Mizuki. Hm, looks like I have some company then.... Streatching, she hopped off the wall on which she sat and started to walk into the flames.... only now they were disappearing fast. Everywhere, there were shards of ice. Tsuzuki-nee-san? Could she be here? This looks like her work, but it doesn't smell like her at all..... Any idea that it could have been her sister vanished at the sound of speech-- a male voice. Last time I checked, my sister was not a man... That's not her....
Continuing in the direction of the sound, Mi shifted her face into a mock pout, not unlike her sister's-- though the two were quite different, there were always those little things like facial expression that reminded everyone they were related.
Opting for a more dramatic enterance, Mizuki sent a wall of flames shooting up from the ground, through which she walked to approach the dragon demon and his mount. "Awww, you Ice elementals don't know how to have any fun, do you." She folded her arms. "Hmph. Kill joy."

“Killjoy? At least my idea of fun doesn’t involve the slaughter of the innocent, witch.” He grinned in amusement as something crossed his mind, all the while putting out her wall of fire with one of ice from his sword. “What exactly is it with you evil demon women?” He shook his head, grinning all the while, and lowered his swords. “I’ve never dealt with one that seems sane to me.”
He flicked his head to his left, and the Nightmare ran around the perimeter of the battlefield. It came back moments later, and Kurayami grinned widely as it mentally relayed something to him. With another flick of Yami’s head, the Nightmare took off again, this time retrieving a few survivors and running out of the village; at the same time, Yami moved into a defensive stance and bared his fangs, waiting for Mizuki to act.
“Here I am, preparing for battle again,” he said quietly. “I have no desire to do this, but I feel that I have no choice. A demon that reeks of brimstone and delights in the torture of others has no place in the world. No sane creature would permit it…if they had the power.” Then he shook his head and stood up straight, lifting his faceplate up once more to look at her. “Should you survive this encounter, my name is Kurayami of the Ice. Remember it, and remember the honor you will lose here today.”
Such a misguided soul…I wish I could do more than this, and I know I can’t…

"Me, insane? Trust me, I'm not even the worst of them. Keep traveling, than see who you run into." Her pout slowly shifted into a grin, which was then followed by the forroughing of her brow. "Oh bother, I seem to have left my weapon elsewhere. Oh well." Mizuki's prefferd weapon was similar to Suikotsu's claws, as her fighting style was more hand to hand/short range. "Anyway, Kurayami of the Ice are you? Of corse, just my luck. Always with the ice elementals. Well, I am Mizuki of the north, younger sister to Tsuzuki of the North, Queen of the Ice." She used her sisters self given title to see what sort of reaction it would get from him-- he might even know her. She didn't know what went on with ice typed-- for all she knew, they could be holding secret cult meetings or something.
With a flick of her wrist, a ring of flames rose again, following the path the nightmare ran. This time though, the flames were controlled, and did not stray from the ring. Mizu also still needed hand movement to control her power-- with her being fairly young, she had not yet reached the level where it could be soley mind controlled.
"So, you intend to fight me do you?" Her preditory grin returned as she started to walk forward, almost in the manner of a cat stalking a mouse. Only Mizuki was no cat demon-- she was one of the Yourouzoku.

"I'm more than a couple of centuries your senior, little girl," he admitted, licking his lips in anticipation. "And I know not this Tsuzuki, self-proclaimed 'Queen of the Ice'. I've been a wanderer for decades, and as often as I've been back to my homeland, I've never heard of her."
He watched as she stalked towards him, and he growled in irritation. He held his swords up once more, keeping them at the ready for her attack; a moment later, out of instinct, he lunged at her, dragging the blade of the thinner Bure-dotousoumi along the length of her left arm.
"That was merely a warning, young one. The next strike will be Teonikokuo, and it will not be so forgiving." He held the larger, saw-edged blade up and pointed it towards her threateningly. "I have no desire to kill you, but I will not hesitate to incapacitate you."

"Hm, I may be only be a century and a half old--" This was a lie-- Mizuki was still two decades away from reaching 150. "-- But Tsuzuki is my eldest sister. I wouldn't be suprised if you didn't know her yet, as she comes, like me, from the high mountains. But she's also an ice elemental, and she may not like you picking on me." Another lie. Tsuzuki honestly hated Mizuki very much, and didn't give a damn what happened to her-- but he didn't know that, so Mizu was going to milk this for all it was worth.
Unprepared for his lunge, Mizuki stumbled backward and fell to the ground. "Bastard!" She snarled, pulling herself to her feet. She was young, and still had much to learn about dueling, though she would never admit to her inexperiance. I cannot fight him..... This isn't going to end well.... Luckily for Mizu, one thing she did not share with her sister was her all powerful god complex. Mi knew when her life was actually in danger. She was going to let Yami make the first move towards fighting if he must... Mi was looking for an escape route.

"I can see that you value your life," he observed, a friendly grin on his face. "I'll give you a chance to live this time. I do not want to regret this decision; if I must at a later date, I will not hesitate to slay you. Now go, report this defeat to whomever you think will care. Evil beings like you have no allegiance; I feel sorry for you, because whoever you tell will likely be less forgiving than I am."
He put Teonikokuo away, and looked at the ring of flames still around the village. With one last swing he put the fire out, and he put that weapon away, too. He whistled, calling Varon back to him; before he walked over and hopped onto the Nightmare's back, he put his hand on Mizuki's head.
"I do hope you live to see another day. Maybe this encounter will do you some good." Then he grinned wider, as if amused. "Maybe you'll be the better for it."
He waited within the confines of the village for Mizuki to leave. As he did so, he made a motion for Varon to go and bring the survivors back to the village.
Such a strange one...Barely a century and a half...And she's already that evil...

Mizuki narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms. "And what would a dragon know of allegiance?! The bonds of a pack are stronger than you think. 'Evil' or not, we still remian loyal to our people-- there are those who care. Yah, but they're all back home. And I'm not going back there any time soon. Especially not in the middle of winter. "Just know, Lizard, that I do not fear you." Lie number... what was it, four now? It came to Mi almost easier than breathing-- lying had become a natural thing for her.
Her tail flicking, she turned and started to stalk away, cursing under her breath. Quickly she tuned and glanced back over her shoulder. "For the better? Are you turly that deluded that you'll have any such impact on me?"
OOC: Gah, my muse just died again >.< Sry for shortness

"I'm not deluded, little one. I'm just...optimistic." Then he glared angrily at her as he realized what else she had said. "The ties of the clan may be strong, child, but they mean nothing when the clan is dead. Of course, in saying that, you didn't know that, did you?"
He growled, a sound that seemed far different than the demeanor he'd displayed up to now; he rushed up to her, and lifted her off of her feet by her neck. "Never, talk to me about the clan. Mine's been dead for four centuries. Now, do yourself a favour: Get out of here, before I change my mind, and end your life."
With a snarl that seemed uncharacteristically dark for him, he threw her to the ground and walked away, his tail smacking her in the side of her head as he stormed off.
OOC: Don't feel bad about it. Mine did as I ended that last line.

((Mizuki hath no collar-- she's a wolf demon, so she's wearing the armor, and I'd be a tad awkward to grab her there o.o))

Mizuki let out a shreik as she was lifted into the air, sheilding her face with her arms. "P-put me down, you bastard!" Then she felt herself falling, and she met the earth with a thump. " I was leaving before you grabbed me!" If they could have, her eyes would have shot flames as she spat that last line at the dragon, before turning and running back into the ruins of the village.
So, his clan's dead, is it?

With no more than a snarl he looked back, his eyes shooting a manic glare that would’ve frozen her soul solid if it could. He stopped and put his helmet on, closing the faceplate and hiding any further emotions behind the armor’s skull-like façade. He crossed his arms and shook his head in disgust, then turned back to face the direction that she ran in. A hiss and a growl escaped him, the latter ejecting a cloud of cold mist that escaped the “teeth” and “nose” of the helmet.
“I claim that these humans are now under my protection. Never return to this place.”
He leapt onto Varon’s back and rode off, clearly no longer in an associative mood.
How dare she bring up the matters of the clan to me…
