Puerto de Pecado. Sunshine, palm trees and . . .
Vampires.
If there is in this world a well attested account, it is that of the vampires. Nothing is lacking: official reports, affadavits of well known people, of surgeons, of priests, of magistrates; the judicial proof is most complete. And with all that, who is there who believes in vampires? - Rousseau
Vampires, manifestations that frequent our dreams, seducing our imagination and working it feverishly until reality and myth blur together, the line fading but present.
But in some places there is no line. Myth and reality are one in the same, but few know that. Many suspect, but their idea is twisted and warped, relying on old stories to give their beliefs false structure. But just how false?
In Puerto de Pecado the line between Myth and Reality is non-existent, but it is hidden to many, the secret remaining just that . . . secret.
For the vampires the secrecy is life. No humans can know about them, lest they attempt to exploit or exterminate. So they remain in the proverbial shadows, watching, but attempting to keep the “line” intact.
They have a finite set of rules.
Half vampires are taboo. Humans are not allowed into the vampire world. A turning will occur only if the King deems it necessary because they hold potential. No human survives once they know, most often they will die.
But there are always slip ups.
The pure bloods have begun acting, setting new laws to keep their world under control.
“Any vampire willingly creating half breeds will be killed and the half breeds in question face the same fate or exile from the race.”
Few vampires were willing to risk their lives for a human, but some thought they could beat it . . .
“Any vampire found turning a human without the consent of the royal family will be exiled or face the death penalty.”
Again it seemed as if the problem was solved. No more humans are being turned unless by direct order of the royal family.
But one can’t help but follow their Blood Lust Dreams.
