One day the emperor met a young woman and fell in love with herr. The womans kind heart matched his own, and she loved him for who he was..the man, not the title.
Knowing he could not make her his wife, the emperor made her his concubine, and soon of course she was his favorite and only one he desired.
The empress becoming suspicious started to keep an close eye on the young woman and what she feared came true......the young woman was soon with child.
Fearing for the safety of the woman he loved and the child created from that love the emperor had the young concubine taken to a safe place.
Enraged at this, the empress convinced her son, who was just as cruel and vain as his mother to assasinate his own father and claim the throne.....and so it was done.
Word did reach the young concubine and griefstricken she mourned her only love. She now lived only to give life to the child she carried. The day of birth came and soon a baby girl cried out for the first time to announce her arrival into the world. The young concubine smiled and placed a gentle kiss on her daughters forehead and then, with a smile closed her eyes forever to join her love in the next world.
Nowing the story of the girls parents, the midwife named the newborn girl Aiko..Love child. For The child was one, created in true and unconditional love.
Taking the child, she gave it to a couple that lived in a small village and was childless yet yearned for a child to love. to them she entrusted the new life, along with her story and an amulet which held minitaure painting of the emperor and concubine.
Aiko grew up, happy and with the love of the couple that raised her, even so life was hard for the poor family.
meanwhile at the palace the new emperor maried and reigned with a cruel hand. His new wife, gentle and kind soon gave birth to a son and raised him with love and kindness. He was his mothers son, loving and caring, fearing his cruel father and vain grandmother.
As both children became teens their lifes drasticly changed. The young boy lost his mother trough his fathers cruelty, and two years later his father and grandmother were murderd by servants tired of their cruelty, now making the young boy the new emperor.
Aiko now a young woman was finally told the story of her identuity and her parents along with the amulet.
Her adopted parents, as hard as it was for them told her to go to the city for it may be esier for her to find a good husband there.
With a heavy heart Aiko agreed and made her way to the city, where one day a former concubine of her father saw her and recognized her, for she looked so much like her mother. Approaching Aiko the concubine saw the amulet and knew at once who this young woman was and took her in.
Knowing that this girl had a right to be known as what she was, and knowing the kindness of the new young emperor the former concubine went to the young king and told the story. Curious now and knowing that the girl may be the only bloodfamily to him, the emperor had Aiko brought to him, and seeing the minitaure paintings knew she truly was the childof the emperor.
With that the emperor officilay gave Aiko to title of princess and offered her a home at the palace.
Over time the young emperor and Aiko became closer, for her kindness reminded him so much of his mother, until he decided to officialy announce Aiko is sworn sister.
Aiko never forgot the couple that raised her or how she grew up. She had her adopted parents come to live with her and now did all in her power to help the poor.
