Laurel is a kind soul who cares only for nature and those whom live in it, not for herself. She is an immortal being, one created to watch over and protect nature by the gods. However, she wishes that she were not immortal. After over two thousand years she has truly learned the meaning of 'immortality', and wants nothing more than to be normal. Not even trees live that long... all of her friends die, and she remains the same, never aging, destined to protect nature for all eternity.
She also has almost no knowledge of humans or demons, and has only conversed with them three times in her long life. She also has no knowledge of what 'love' is. That is to say, the love a woman feels for a man. She only knows of the love that she has for all things living.

Detailed Personal History:
Long, long ago the Gods created immortals for all purposes. Protecting nature, taking care of the earth, and many others. These immortals, like all others, would never age, and never die, only do their task for all eternity. This was how the Gods made them, because they did not want to have to create new ones when the old die. However, these immortals can still be killed, just like any other creature, so it still becomes necessary to create more at times.
Laurel is one such creature, an immortal destined from birth to guard nature. To protect it from all those who wish it harm, as well as to heal those in need of healing. She has done so for thousands of years without complaint, for she does love her task. Her friends have all been trees, as well as animals that she has met and/or healed over the years. They eventually die, leaving an empty hole in Laurel's heart. That is part of the reason why, within the last hundred years, Laurel has begun to hate her own immortality, and want nothing more than to be free of it. ...if only there was such a way to free her from it.
