Kanaye is a creation of Mr. Aoki before he met and finally settled with shikyo's mother. Born without a father he worked and raised him self, while his mother wondered the mountains daily killing and devouring all that she could see, mainly men. His mother one time took him out during the season she was in heat ; allowing him to sit and watch. He saw how Mr.Aoki, who came to visit his mother rarely, treat his mother and began to pick up on this behavior. Being a spider demon, his mother saw nothing wrong with her son demeaning people in the presence of others, or is amused by and takes pleasure in physical suffering of others. Many of times Kanaye has lied for the purpose of harming or inflicting pain on others, but nothing was wrong with him in his mother's eyes. In fact it seem because of his sadistic personality disorder, his own mother was falling in love with her son by the time he was the age of 17. To bad Kanaye didn't feel the same way, he left when she mention a change in his father's life. So Kanaye when to go search for his father, that was when he met young Shikyo; her small frame and innocence eyes, it drew him in and made him want to spoil the innocence. He tried to get his father to do what he wanted by frightening him through intimidation to give him shikyo. His father warned him if he was to ever return, he will be killed on sight. Slowly over time Kanaye watched little shikyo grow up when he felt the time was right he tried to retrieve her a second time, only to find out that she was sold into slavery. In raged he killed his father and vowed to find shikyo again and make her his own.
