The way he ate was very quickly and perhaps a bit messily. Of course, she had not expected him to be polite in anything with the way he was brought up as a child. Being in those conditions he probably had to worry about food a lot, getting it and eating it. He probably had to do both quickly just to get a meal as the other captives would have been fighting for food as well. It was unlikely that they would give them enough food for everyone, and even if they did the weaker demons would probably be killed for their share. Their captors would have wanted to save as much money and time as possible without compromising their best fighters, and the competition for food would have put all the demons against each other so none of them could come together and revolt if they wanted to.
There would probably be no trust in those conditions, everyone would have been looking over their shoulders at everyone else. It was not a good life to think about at all and there were probably still more living it. But she would not help them all, could not. Kira was not naive and knew that some of those demons really did deserve such a life and even those that had not deserved it were probably too far gone now to really matter. There were only a few, such as Takai, that would have even been worth releasing, but she would not seek them all out. It was not her business to go gallivanting about and saving other demons from some good in her heart and it really was not like her at all. One was enough.
Her eyes had completely closed now in comfort of the heat and the thoughts within her mind. It took a moment for her to realize that Takai had said something, but when she did she opened her eyes and looked to him. "You don't have to go through the trouble," she said as she looked back to the fire, "I rarely sleep much and when I do I usually do so in a sitting position in a tree or something.." A tree had always seemed more comfortable to her, perhaps not in physical comfort but in mental comfort. She enjoyed the height and being out of direct sight of those on the ground. [/blockquote]

He nods listening to her as he stares into the fire. He was slightly sadden the fact he was unable to do anything to help her, but didn’t show it. “Well its fine, either you can stay here next by the fire, or in a tree, I will watch over. No humans or demons shall come near.” He left it at that but it was clear he wouldn’t hesitate to kill anyone. Takai looks past the fire and gazes into forest. As he sat there he clutches his fist and releases it multiple times. He could the night clasping around him, slightly making his stronger as the chains he had around him his whole life kept him from using the magic he would of naturally learned.
He lowers his hand again and just sits there as he looks over in the corner of his eye and glances back towards Kira as he waits to see what it was she was doing. He was unsure why he was so curious but he just told himself, knowing is just help him keep a watch, even though it wouldn’t matter since nothing would change no matter where she slept. Other then her distance from him.
When the thought finally crosses his mind his eyes widen, and he begin blushing. He was about to leap up and go do something distracting but before he could one of the Shinidama from before returns. He slowly moves around a nearby tree and moves over and wraps around his arm. He turns and looks at it and it was enough to distract him for the time being. “Its odd, though the could never talk to me, nor needed me to speak to them the two has visited me every night when my captors would leave us. They seem to be the only company I even seem to care about, as the others, mostly disgusted me.”
He was about to go more in detail of his story but stops himself as he notices he had no reason to be talking and was just rambling to her. Which was something he did not do, or ever thought he would do. He lifts his arm gently as he looks back into the flame, yet the Shinidama begins to fly away. He rest his arm back once it left and his wings remained extended and stretched.

Her gaze lifted up to one of the trees above for a moment before returning to the fire. In her mind she was debating on whether to go to sleep and, if so, just where to sleep. She decided after a moment that it would be best just to stay where she was and if she just happened to fall asleep then she fell asleep. Of course this did not make her seem like the most caring person in the world, which she really was not, but that was just the way she lived. The sudden interest she had taken in Takai when he was in that cage was probably due to some aspect of her character that just did not like those circumstances but, overall, she really did not care too much unless something caught her interest.
Kira cast a sideways glance to Takai for a moment, catching the end of his blush before another one of his shinidamas appeared. She was curious as to why he would suddenly turn a bit red, but she was not going to question him, at least not unless it became something serious. For all she knew he could just have gotten too hot or something. But then that did not really seem right to her, of course she was not really one to think of any other possibilities. Because of her personality she had never felt an attraction to anyone or felt that love was even possible. There was no lust in her and thus the thought that others might hold that within them would not readily occur to her, so she was stuck wondering if he was just too hot or something.
"It's understandable," she said after hearing him speak, "many of the demons that get caught in such things as that are probably not going to make the best company for anyone. They're probably just living for the fight now, or to survive. Either way their trust for anyone would be nil and their habits probably grown revolting, assuming they weren't so to begin with.." Such demons that go through such things were not the cleanest best mannered demons out there, far from it. Most of them are, and probably were before that, disgusting. None of those that she had seen really seemed to revolt against fighting in the cage, like Takai had, and that just showed that they lived for that now and did not really care if they were freed or not.
"They were probably the only ones that would accept you as well and even bother to keep you company," she said as they flew off. Being in such a place she wondered if she would have preferred such company. Of course Kira supposed that in a way she was trapped within herself, like those demons were trapped. She could never really find it in herself to trust anyone, though she thought that perhaps she could give Takai a chance. She probably would never trust him completely though. Was she even capable of that?

He lays back onto the ground looking up at the night sky. Which in returns the heat now escapes as he lays out. He looks back down at his arms where the scars was and they had already begin to heal. He opens and closes his claws twice as he thinks to himself. ‘I am free, but what now…. I have no plans, nowhere to go, nothing to do.’ He looks back towards Kira seeing her eyes looking at him as this time he held his emotionless face as he thought.
He slowly looks back into the sky as he brings his arms up. “Are you heading somewhere certain or just going?” He ask to get an idea, before he leans back up towards the fire as his wings relax and spreading out. He rest his hands into the dirt as his claws move through it.
He begin to wait on her answer, then for her to go to sleep before he did anything else. He begin thinking of what he should have done by the next day.

Kira was silent for a moment after his question. She had never really had any certain place to go to, probably because she never had any reason to go anywhere certain. No place to return to and no place to go to. In a way it's as if she has been just caught in some sort of middle place. But then she had always lived in the present, never making any certain plans for the future. It was the way she lived and survived and it had been like that for so many years by now that she lost count. It just seemed that she lived a very isolated life, but as a demon such trivial matters were really nothing to pay any mind to, but for some reason it came to mind now. It was strange to think about, but for some reason she was.
"I've never really had anywhere certain I've had to be," she said after a moment of silence, "did you have any place in particular that you wished to see?" Did he even know of any place that he wanted to see? Takai had been captured as a child so just how much of the country had he actually seen? Probably a tiny bit from before his capture and perhaps a bit from inside his cage, but just how much? "How many places have you been to?" Probably some of the first questions she's really voiced from her mind to him thus far, but it would happen at some point or another.
Kira took that moment to lean against the trunk of a tree behind her, her gaze staring into the fire before her. The flames flickered to and fro in the slight breeze on the air as her claws found the pendents that had previously been hidden beneath her clothes. The fingers of one hand fiddled with the trinkets, her mother and father coming to mind for a moment. It had been quite a long time ago since she had last seen them alive, and almost just as long since she buried their remains. She did miss them, but there was little she could do about it now.

He looks over at her and thinks to himself. “No as soon as I came to this world, I was to young to even crawl, I was send here to die. But I remember those damn shinigami’s faces and words, as that cast me here so they would not be troubled by me. For it seem I was the first Shinigami that was born. Then that’s when he found me, shortly after I arrived. So I have only been where they took me. But I have seen a large human village, made more out of stone, along with everything else. It was near the sea, but that was where they hold the most costly of fights.
He turns looking back towards her as he watches her lean against the tree. He says nothing more, as he just watches waiting for her to finally go to sleep. He turns back to the fire as he holds out his hand towards it feeling the heat from it.
He pulls it back as it started to slightly burn. He closes his eyes and begins to listen around them hearing the wildlife, and focus more making sure no demons was in the area, for when she did fall asleep, he could leave her for a moment.

She should have figured as much, though she was not sure why the shinigami would want to send him here to die. Even if he was born he did not seem like he had anything wrong with him, though she knew that some creatures really did not care about that but about the particulars of whatever they are shunning. It could have been because he was the only one born among them, which set him apart from them and made him different. It seemed like a stupid reason in her opinion since he did not seem to have any mixed blood or anything, but then she really did not know much about him aside from what he had just been telling her all this time. Because of that her only real response to his words was a simple nod.
She could still feel the heat of the fire, but it was not as intense as before. For a moment Kira looked away from the flames and to the sky, watching the stars above. She had a preference for the night, though she was not sure why. Perhaps because it was darker, covered in shadows and moonlight. It seemed a lot more mysterious in a way she supposed, but perhaps it was just her thinking far too much again.
A quiet sigh escaped her as her eyes settled gently back to the fire, staring at if for some moments longer. It took a while, but eventually her eyes began to drift closed in sleep from the warmth of the fire. Her face relaxed from it's usual expressionless look to that of something serene and peaceful, perhaps even innocent. Probably a strange look for a demon, but one she managed to achieve unconsciously. [/blockquote]

He continue to sit there before his eyes look back seeing she was asleep. He leans up and slightly moves seeing if she follows or if she really was asleep. He then looks back into the woods as he listens for the surroundings. He then shortly after that disappears as he begins running into the woods.
He quickly thought back as a child when he was in the forest with demons and other creatures for weeks without food or help to survive. He begins to hunt down large game that he could bring back, and pay off for the fish, at least. His claws moves along his sides readied to leap before seeing his mark. The large creature didn’t even have time, or was even aware of his presence.
The large bear stands as if to defend itself when it heard something draw near, but was to late as Takai, brought his claws deep into it. The bears mouth was open from a loud roar it intended, but never had time. He brought his claws down into the bear lifting it as he brings it back to the camp site. He stops outside it not wanting to get the blood all over her, as he hung the bear up letting it bleed.
As the night goes on he listens to the surroundings as he skinned and cut the bear up, as he made what appears as giant steaks. As he continues on he stops hearing, and could sense a demonic energy drawing close. It was weak, but he didn’t much care. He figured Kira sleeping was drawing it as it seem heading right towards them. He had stop and heads back towards her before finding a snake demon in the distance. Before it could wake her or get close enough he flings himself out into the forest not even letting it defend itself or question it, as he killed it quickly.
He had turn and begin walking back, he had left the fur and outside, only pulling the meat towards the fire as the light begins breaking into the day.

Kira woke slowly, first becoming aware of the sunlight beginning to light the sky then becoming aware of a fresh kill coming about along with Takai's scent. Her blue eyes slowly opened to find the fire still going, though a lot lower than when she had started it the night before. Takai was nearby, though that was not what caught her attention first. There was bear meat sitting right next to the fire which left her raising an eyebrow as to why it was there to begin with. Takai probably went out and got it, but why? Was this something to repay her with or something? Or was there something else? Did he plan on eating any of it or was it all suppose to be for her? It really confused her for the moment with far too many questions.
The next thing she was able to pick up was the scent of a demon that was recently killed nearby. It seemed to be snake-like in scent which caused Kira to frown slightly while looking in that direction. Takai had managed to kill it before she could sense it getting close while asleep, probably a good thing for she overly hated snake demons. Such feelings were probably based on what had happened during her childhood when that snake demon nearly ended her life with it's poison. Now her body should be able to handle such poison well, depending on just how strong it was, but that did not allow the feeling of dislike for the creatures to leave her readily.
Instead Kira turned her attention back to the bear meat sitting by the fire, not really caring for the snake any longer seeing as it was already dead. Her frown had disappeared now, leaving only the hint of curiosity at the meat. Her blue eyes drifted over to Takai for a moment before getting up and placing more wood on the fire to get it nice and hot again. In her mind she was debating whether bear meat would taste better cooked or not. After a moment she decided cooked would probably be better for now, though it would take a bit more time to prepare. Not that she was going anywhere in particular in a hurry anyway.
"So what is all the meat for," she asked finally, deciding that she wanted to know exactly why he went out and got it to begin with. Bear was not really hard to kill or anything, the meat was decent enough depending on who was eating it and how their tastes went. Kira's opinion of it was that it was good enough to eat for her, though she really did not have it that often she supposed. In any case she would eat it if that was what he had brought it for, it was not like her to just turn down food unless she saw something wrong with it, not that she was offered food very often to begin with anyway. Takai was grabbing the last of the meat of the bear, as he turns seeing her awake. He says nothing nor did his expression change as he carries the meat towards the fire. He sits it down, and begins wondering how it should be handled, eaten or what. He stood for a moment as he was almost lost in thought.
He then hear her ask him, and then had to think more, as in how to even answer that. He doesn’t look at her but he did finally respond. “I tracked it down, I thought it would have to be good, if the “fish” was so good. So I went to go and get something for you.” He then goes silent but was a complete different reason at this point then seem as he thought about his own words, and how even he noticed how twisted and misused.
He finally snaps out of it as he turns and faces her. “Do you not like?” His blant face along with broken and dark voice, didn’t match his wording, nor the fact he actually cared seem to echo within the wording. He didn’t mean to let it slip nor did he even notice as his crimson eyes gaze into hers.

Something for her, which seemed to mean that he might not be eating any. It seemed that it was a bit much for her on her own and she was not accustom to receiving anything from other people unless it was something aimed to kill her. Even though she had helped him before Kira did not expect to receive anything in return so of course she had to over think the situation at hand right at that moment. Of course the thought had occurred to her that perhaps he was just trying to pay her back for what she had done, not that she was making it easy for him either, but for some reason she felt that there had to be something more to it than that. Many demons might have just run off after getting help and some might have even turned on her after it all.
Kira's mind snapped back into place when Takai's voice came again. His expression and his words seemed a strange combination, causing her to pause a moment before she actually gave him a response. "It's fine," she said looking back to the meat, "I've just.. Never really been on the receiving end of such a gesture." She admitted the last part, though she did not really seem ashamed of it or anything. In fact it was not really something she thought she should be ashamed of, it just meant that she lived her life without help from other people, which she felt was not a bad thing at all and perhaps is what made her stronger.
After a moment to reflect on that she rose from the ground and moved to the meat, getting a strong stick and stabbing it through. After doing that to all the pieces she managed to set them up around the fire, allowing them to start cooking on one side. They would have to sit there for a while before they would be ready to turn and then a while longer before they would be ready to eat. "Are you going to eat some as well," she asked him a bit curiously, "you probably should, the fish probably wasn't as filling as it could have been." [/blockquote]

He sits down beside her as he looks at the meat unsure, what to do up at this point. He begins listening to her about never had received a gift before. Of course he never had either, and the gesture did seem odd now that he thought about it, but it was just something that he wanted to do for her. Even still he had no regrets of doing it, and would done it again.
His attention moves back to her as she gets up and begins to move the meat around. He wanted to help her, but didn’t know how. Instead he got up moving towards her side, so he could watch and maybe learn, to keep her from having to do everything if she stayed with him another night. He then turns to her when she ask about him eating. He never thought about it til then, since the full thought was for her. “Sure.”
He watches her use a stick and put through one of the meats and he slightly wanders around finding a sturdy clean like stick and does the same. He walks beside her, now completely dumbfounded, unsure, what he was suppose to do.

When she began to move around the small camp to cook the meat Takai seemed to be at a bit of a loss. Kira did not speak to him though, she had nothing to say and nothing to explain, he would pick it up without her explaining anyway, if not now then with time anyway. Now that he was free he would have to learn sooner or later and to learn to learn without having things explained. That was what she thought and how she learned anyway, though having something explained did save a lot of trouble. Still, it was best to not expect an explanation for everything and to just take in as much information as she could through observation alone. By doing that she would only have to rely on herself instead of relying on some other people that she probably did not know.
Kira had to wonder just how far Takai would travel with her if she let him. He seemed to be attaching himself to her for whatever reason and she seemed to be letting him. That would make her wonder about herself in time, but for now she had to wonder why he was attaching himself to her to begin with. He had even decided that he should hunt some food for her, granted she had fished out some food for him just before, but she supposed that was only to give him a little push at his new life of freedom. She did not mind his company though, it was a bit nice to be able to sleep through one night without disturbance. It seemed to give her some more energy than usual.
When he walked over to her she looked up at him, seeing his confused expression. "You should probably just sit down while we wait," she said with a slight tilt of her head, "the meat will take a bit of time to cook completely." The fire was a nice warm, cooking fire now, the embers very hot and even good enough for some ember cooking if there was no flames. She had done some ember cooking every now and again, it was always nice to eat on occasion, but there usually was not enough time for such things or even enough time for a fire. After waiting a few moments Kira moved to the meat and turned the sticks a bit to start cooking a different side more. "Do you think you would prefer fully cooked or only partially cooked..?" [/blockquote]

He nods and begins to move out of her way, taking a seat onto a fallen log as he watches her. He then nods to her, as she talks more telling him it will be awhile. He Lightly closes his eyes. Smelling the meat as it cooks. He opening his eyes once more following her around the campsite.
His mind wonders in and out, thinking back. He never had a child hood nor anyone he could talk to. Now they still wasn’t talkative but the feeling of being with her seem to change his way of feeling. He found a little happier inside. He couldn’t explain it or why. He just knew it was cause by her.
He never thought of wanting to be with someone. Every time as a child freedom came to mind, he pictures himself alone. Mainly cause he always hated being with other demons and humans. He enjoyed being alone. Yet oddly here now he got that chance, and he didn’t know why. It was a feeling he never experienced or thought of.
He snaps back out of it when she asked him about the meat as his eyes look up into her blue eyes. “Uh… I don’t really know, not tried either before. Either would be nice… thank you.” He said it that time assuming it worked out last time, but he still slightly hesitated with it.

The campsite was filling with the smell of cooking meat, but the youki energy coming from her and the energy coming from Takai, she really was not sure if it would be youki or something else, probably just ki, would be enough to keep anything that would want to come after the food away. Rarely did Kira ever have a problem about cooking her food or anything because of her energy, it was more toward that she never really stayed in one place long enough to really cook anything or that she just did not simply make the fire required for such a thing. The smell was rather nice though as it permeated through the air and into her own nose. It was probably a shame that there were no spices or anything around to put on the meat, but it really did not matter. She nodded to him when he spoke about not really knowing which one he liked.
Kira allowed her blue eyes to wander up to the sky. It was still early morning but they would have plenty of time to walk onto wherever after the food was eaten. The question at hand was where they should go. She had just recently been to a beach she could remember from her childhood and before meeting Takai she was just wandering the fields around. Perhaps she would take a small trip up to the mountains, though there were plenty all over Japan. There were some nearby that she had wanted to check upon, having smelled something from that direction a short while ago. She doubted she would find anything now, but she still wanted to go ahead and look anyway.
But what about Takai? Would Takai travel with her when she went to the mountains or would he simply go his own way after that. Kira would not stop him from following her wherever she went, that was his choice. He could choose to go wherever he wanted to and he did not appear to be a threat to her, he would probably be an advantage to have if she looked at it from a detached point of view. Still, he did not appear to want to harm her in the least so if he were to follow her she would not stop him. Just how far would he follow her if he does choose to do so though? And just what will happen whenever they get attacked by something? Will he fight with her or would he fight independent of her? It was strange to think of them fighting as a team, but probably preferable if they traveled together.
It had been a while longer that the meat had been cooking and Kira took two of the pieces from the fire. The meat was a bit rare, not getting the chance to fully cook like those that were still near the fire, but would still taste fine just the same. "Here, try this," she said, holding out on of the pieces to him, "this meat is a bit undercooked. Try this first then you can try the next piece when it's finished cooking completely. Then we shall know which one you prefer." It was a bit strange that she was being this thoughtful to his tastes, yet she really did not seem to care too much. Kira figured that he should at least figure out all the basic things first, like which foods he preferred and how he preferred to eat them. [/blockquote]
