"Yes..." Merodi said with a sigh, nibbling her lip as she continued to tug at the leather strap. It was something she wished would go away. That and the neck choker. Things placed on her with her prison. Her 'owner' and the symbolism beneath simple leather straps. She sighed.

Whats the matter?
Ash didn't open up his eyes. It was surprising that he was even awake. He heard Merodi's skin over her bands, and her sigh that fallowed. He wished to question her about then, but held his tongue. She must have been a prisoner or slave for someone. He didn't know how anyone could treat another person like that, even if they were a demon. [/sub]

"H-huh?" Merodi asked, jolting her head up to look at the man, eyes wide for a moment. She frowned and stared at him, for a moment wondering if he had spoken at all. He hadn't seemed to move since she last looked at him. She looked away again, hunching her shoulders.
"Oh, it's nothing, just...yeah, nothing." Merodi sighed, feeling humiliated in her horrible lack of speech. She really needed to get a hold of herself. She breathed deeply through her nose and was surprised to catch the small hint of blood. "A-are you injured?"

Ash's hand instantly went to his tunic, making sure that it was closed. How was it that she knew he was hurt, unless she smelled his blood. He frowned slightly, then return his face back to normal. He took a moment to make his response, and decided to keep it simple.
Its just a scratch. It will heal in no time, don't worry about it.
Merodi must have smelled his blood. He interlaced his fingers and rested his hands on his stomach just below his slash. It wasn't bleeding, so his tunic remained untainted by blood. He already washed what blood from the fight, and his body, off of it, so it remained clean. He inhaled, and his sensitive nose still picked up the scent of battle and blood. He didn't know if a deer could smell that. [/sub]

Merodi watched him, slowly starting to become at ease. If he was injured then it would be harder for him to catch her. "I know that smell..." she replied, a dazed look coming across her face as she thought over it. "I'm used to that smell..."
Images formed in her mind, thoughts of pain and the sounds of metal against metal. The sound of blood hitting the floor, of fire burning her nostrils. She tightened her arms around her legs, as if to make herself smaller in the sitting position then she already was. She didn't say anything more, too caught up in her own mind.

This smell isn't something anyone should smell. It pisses me off to know that those who are innocent have smelled this. I'm sorry that you know what happens to those who fight, rather to protect or not.
He made a fist and looked at it, watching as his muscle squirmed under it as he flexed his hand. It pained him to know that those who want nothing to do with fighting, like animals and innocent humans and demons alike. He slowly put his hand down and sighed. He calmed himself down, and his aura, which was pulsating in anger, softened to a cool wave.
Ash thought back to his past. He lost his innocence and was force into battle when he was a baby, and had no other choice but to fight to defend himself. Many lives were lost, innocent lives, and Ash killed just as many of them as his own father did. He shoved that thought out of his mind and cooled his aura again. [/sub]

Merodi seemed to be ignoring him, placing her forehead on her knees to hide herself even more. "I know what happens to those who don't fight. Or can't fight." that was what she truly knew. That was what was worse. Much worse. What haunted her night and day. What had her hiding and had her afraid. She tensed, trying harder to calm herself. The only thing she had were her songs. The only thing that calmed her down.
The deer concentrated on the lyrics of another song, taking in deep breathes. Shyly she peaked through her bangs toward Ash. Hoping she hadn't gone too far with her depression. She was having horrible emotion control today.

Ash remained silent and kept his eyes closed. He focused on what he knew of those who couldn't, or just didn't, fight. This was where Ash came in. After killing his father in a fit of rage, Ash made a vow to protect those who needed it. That was about the only think he had to live for, protecting those who needed it.
But he also had a much darker side that comes out if Ash isn't careful. It was the complete opposite of the 'good' Ash. It killed without a second thought, and it loved doing it. It was this part of Ash that made it difficult for him to do anything worth shit. He felt Merodi's look at him, and he opened up one eye to look back. [/sub]

Merodi glanced at him nervously. She frowned, uncomfortable in the silence. There was nothing more to say, was there? She could tell, both of them were transfixed on their sad pasts. They needed a good distraction. Maybe she could sing again? Oh no! No, too dangerous, she had already been caught, and surely he was tired of hearing. Although it had always helped her in such situations, she wouldn't automatically assume it helped for others. She bit her lip before slowly standing up. "I-I think its about time that I leave..."
Merodi couldn't help him as she was, and she was sure he just wanted to be alone. It was too hard to think of things to say when she was so used to being alone. Sad, really...a deer shouldn't be alone. They belong in herds, in groups. That was impossible for her now, though...

That's for you to decide. If you wanna go, I wont do anything to stop you. If you wanna stay, I would be fine with that, too. Unless you are too shy to do so, you could always sing another song. You have a beautiful voice and you shouldn't hide it. Its better than what I can do.
Ash smiled and leaned forward slightly, opened up his right hand, and formed a small ball of fire in it. Blue lightning coursed around it, making a work of art. He sent the ball around, making it change shapes and sizes. That was about all the art he could manage at all. He sure as hell couldn't sing. [/sub]

Merodi pouted, a blush staining her cheeks in shyness as she tried to think on what to do. It seemed pointless to stay. The thought of seeing was something she truly considered. She hadn't been able to sing to someone in a long time. She would love to entertain again as she once had. Sadly it was hard to remember that good time, before she had been forced into entertainment.
The deer blinked, distracted for a moment as he revealed his form of art. Fire. She watched it with great awareness, turning her head as it moved and she couldn't stop from smiling. "Make it dance!" she said, completely diverted as she twirled her body and with an intake of air she began to sing.
"Drink up baby down Are you in or are you out? Leave your things behind 'Cause it's all going off without you Excuse me too busy you're writing a tragedy These mess-ups You bubble-wrap When you've no idea what you're like
So, let go Jump in Oh well, what you waiting for? It's all right 'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown So, let go Just get in Oh, it's so amazing here It's all right 'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown"
Merodi quickly lost herself to this song, moving with the motions and very much enjoying it. She smiled, hoping to truly entertain him. To make it the best song he had ever heard before. Oh, it had been too long.
"It gains the more it gives And then advances with the form So, honey, back for more Can't you see that all the stuff's essential? Such boundless pleasure We've no time for later Now you can wait You roll your eyes We've twenty seconds to comply
So, let go Jump in Oh well, what you waiting for? It's al right 'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown So, let go Just get in Oh, it's so amazing here It's all right 'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown" OOC: Let go by Frou Frou (Sorry for taking so long)

Ash sent the ball up towards the sky. When it was far enough away, Ash had it explode. A slender and majestic blue lightning dragon slithered out of the shock wave, flying around in tandem with Merodi's lyrics.
Ash smiled as he let the dragon fly around, twisting and turning. Ash let it twirl around the deer demon, and let it dissipate when Merodi finished her song. Ash leaned back, hands behind his head.
Nice song. [/sub]

Merodi smiled, starting to finally get comfortable in her situation. She was finally happy. She could sing and not be forced to. She could finally do what she loved and take the time to enjoy it. It had been much too long. She bowed.
"Thank you." Merodi blushed, realizing how much she had opened. How amazing. But was it a good thing? She had promised to not sing again. She didn't want history to repeat itself. Too much to go through again. She frowned suddenly seemingly lost in her history. Her brown eyes seemed hazy as she lost herself.

Ash nodded, smiling slightly. He was glad the Merodi had opened up some more to him. She seemed truly happy that she was able to sing freely, and Ash was perhaps the only person she was able to sing to.
Ash slowly stood up, closing his tunic and stretching his arms. He wasn't hurting as much now, and the wound, from what he could feel of it, was starting to seal itself up, and it was about time, too. He looked down at Merodi, surprised to see her eyes unfocused and glazed over. She was also frowning, implying that she had bad thoughts coursing through her head. He knelt down next to her.
Hey, you alright? [/sub]
