"Ouch. Dood. Stop moving. Geez."
"Move your fat butt then. I can't get a good look."
"Like. I. Care. Gtfo."
A loud cracking sound filled the clearing around the fighting yourouzoku's, and a moment later a soft thud followed. And with that, a thin layer of dust, dirt and leaves being blown into the air. Through the bushes, and the tangled vines of the trees came the muffled sound of laughter, and the high pitched sound of whining.
"CHEIKO! I-I-I..." Hotaka sniffled as he tried to roll over from the crater he had created from falling, but found himself in tears instead. "Ch-Ch-CHEIKO! Th-Th-That hurt." Through his blurry vision, the young yourouzoku glared up through the trees and stayed fixated on the white haired girl staring back down at him.
And giggling.
"I-It's not funny. I-I-I'm gunna tell Gram on you!" Hotaka whimpered as he rubbed at his eyes. And Cheiko simply rolled her eyes as she jumped from the tree and landed softly beside her brother.
"Gawd. You're such a cry baby. It wasn't even that far of a fall." She pushed her foot against him and rolled him over from the hole. "That's cause you didn't get shoved outta tree teme!" Hotaka yelled and quickly climbed to his feet, running off to where the rest of his group had been standing.
Cheiko on the other hand, rolled her eyes and jumped back into the tree. Watching through the leaves and wagging her tail.
[- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~*/~ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -]
Granny stared angrily down at the naked wolf before her. "How dare you speak to me." She growled softly before lifting her nose to the air -like the royal pain-in-the-ass she was- and closed her eyes. "A proper young woman doesn't traipse around with her idiotic husband, naked. ESPECIALLY! Since I never approved of this union."
Granny had seen a lot in her day. Hell, one of her grandchildren had mated with a fox against her wishes. But, at least Taro had the decency to at least ask. [Even if her answer had been no.] But no. Kouga. Her Kouga. The future of Her pack, the future King of the Eastern lands, had gone off and mated with some low-brow, second class wolf.
One who probably couldn't even read or write.
Unreasonable.
No. Despicable.
And Granny was determined to put an end to this union as quickly as possible. Before they had a chance to do something irreversible... Like have a child. And maybe, if she was lucky, one of the remaining Wolf Lords would have a perfect mate for her Kouga.
"Do you own any clothes? Or are you just a common whore? One with no morals or loving parents?" Granny's nose couldn't possibly go any higher, but she was keeping up with her look of disgust. [One that even put Zuki's looks to shame.] "Run along, Tsuzuki, daughter of Kiba and Azami of the North. Run along and forget about my grandson." She smirked lightly, glancing down at Zuki once more. "Forget about him, and know, you were just a silly mistake-..."
At that moment, Hotaka had managed to jumped over the stream and latch onto Grannies legs, catching her off guard for a moment and making her loose her train of thought.
Which actually gave Kouga a chance to come to his mate's defense. "Granny. That was a bit harsh, she isn't a mistake. I mated with her because we fell in love." A because we were both drunk and she raped me.... Kouga grumbled softly to himself and handed his mate the clothes she should have been wearing. Not to mention, we've got like twelve kids sleeping in the woods somewhere.
" Oh crap." Kouga turned from both Granny -who was trying to get a clingy child off her leg, and hoping not to catch a glimpse of the naked Zuki- and Zuki -whom he hoped was getting dressed, and not waiting around to see what his grandmother would do to her- and took a step towards where he had left his kids. Only to feel his heart sink deep.... deep.... DEEEEEEEEEEP into his gut and explode amongst whatever was left of his tortured soul and self respect. From the clearing across the river, beside his older brother who was nursing his arm, and in between an arch of two trees came a young fox hanyou, and in her arms were two of his boys, and beside her was a giggling Seilu and another boy holding onto the fabric of the hanyou's clothes. " I found these kids wrapped in a blanket a few yards back there." The kitsune looked down at Seilu and smiled. " She says her father's name is Kouga?" [/blockquote]

I think Amaranthe's actually pretty creepy...
“...Helium is an element made of two protons, two neutrons and two electrons. Helium has some very unusual properties when it is very cold. It can flow up the walls of containers and escape. It can conduct heat and electricity with almost no resistance, making it a superconductor. But one very popular quality of helium is that when inhaled, the Sound waves behave differently depending on what they are trying to move through. Normally, we breathe air, which is a mixture of gases containing mainly nitrogen and some oxygen. Sound waves generated by our vocal cords move through air at a constant speed of around 350 meters per second. But helium is less dense than the air we normally breathe, and this means that sound waves travel through it much faster than usual (around 900 meters per second) during the short time that they are making their way through the throat and out of the mouth. The pitch of our voice isn't actually altered, but the timbre, or quality of the voice, is. Basically, the fast moving higher frequency sounds have more power as they float about in your throat, and the lower frequencies get a bit lost. So our voices end up sounding flat and you talk something like a retarded chipmunk...”
In the tense moments that happened elsewhere with the Yourouzoku family, the air was getting thinner all around Lux. Thin air means tiny, more diverse gases, even a gas like helium. ___________________ As he listened to her reply, he understood that she was some kind of demon. In fact, he was sure she was a powerful one if she had threatened him. He saw her smile in such a strange way it made him feel a little freaked. “What's the matter with you? You crazy?” he dared ask. As he said so, Lux tilted his head, furrowing his brows. Some of his hair flopped off to one side, making him look kinda funny. His mouth was half open, like when someone looks at you and they can't bring themselves to believe you. “Helloo-oo?” He waved his gloved hands in front of her to get a response, and he did. She snapped her fingers in front of his face, causing him to blink in semi-confusion, semi-annoyance. He raised a brow. ”Amaranthe, was it? Well, whassa matter with ya? Cat got your tou--”His voice cracked. No, it was more than that. It squeaked, cracked, and the helium dissipated. Each word had grown higher in pitch from the moment Amaranthe snapped her fingers. In fact, the sound of his voice became so ridiculiously high pitched he sounded like a chew-toy. But before he could finish his last question, the air was gone; Lux was just mouthing the rest of his sentence before gripping his throat and looking at Amaranthe in such a horrified way it almost looked like he was mad at her. Of course, he knew it was her fault. What the Hell is with you, Amaranthe?Lux, his science-instincs telling him that she couldn't just make the oxygen go away all at once on the planet, decided to dash over towards one area to find some oxygen and have a chance to live. His face was blue, and his vision was so blurred that he went in a squiggly, disoriented line some 9 meters away from Amaranthe. There, he collapsed again on his knees, hurting his bruised, bleeding knee and staring at all the small cuts on his arms. His chest hurt; he was deprived of all air long enough for him to feel completely overtaken with soreness. He wheezed, then finally began taking in big gulps of air, trying to make sure he would survive. His heartbeat returned to normal and his face was no longer blue; it flourished back into its freshly tanned color. He got up, and looked back at Amaranthe with his evil glare. That's the last time I'll EVER trust a little girl... [/blockquote]

A small sadistic giggle escapes Amaranthe's mouth, her fangs flashing momentarily in amusment. Her blood red eyes filling up with amusment, from the annoyned look she had a few minutes ago. No matter how many times she did this to someone, it was always amusing to listen to their last words become nothing more than squeaks. Now unlike Lux, who was smart enough to remove himself from the vacum that she created, the other had died as they gasped for air in the area. Of course causing a vacum is quite hard, since you can't just get rid of the oxygen and other gasses.
Her eyes watch Lux as he gasps for air, his blue face turning to a more normal color slowly. Tilting her head to the side with a small smile on her face, she walks towards the man. Her head coming up high to give an arrogant look. Her eyes casted down at the man, like he was some kind of insect compared to her.
Leaning over to have her lips next to Lux's ear, her hands are placed on her hips. The small smile still on her lips.
"You're a smart one, aren't you? Usually they always die." She says sweetly with a honey coated tone. A little giggle following after. Bringing herself back to her normal height, she clasps her hands behind her back and swivel around on her left heel. Her back exposed towards Lux, as she marches forward. "Won't you play with me longer?"
~~~~~[µ]~~~~~
Eichi just stands there in the river, her kimono soaked in and out, a clueless look on her face. No one had bothered to notice her or even answer her question. Quite frankly she was quite confused on what is going on really.There are wolf demons screaming and hissing about, a naked Zuki, Kouga looking around a little lose just like her and well a fox hanyou holding Zuki's kids.
Watching as Zuki yells at the fox to let go of the children, she laughs at the woman's predicament and her lack of other arms. Smiling to herself and figuring if she does something for Zuki the girl might tell her where Amaranthe is. Quickly dissapearing in the shadows she appears soaking wet behind the fox demon, a pissed off look on her face. She of course isn't in the mood to deal with people, and wants to know where Amaranthe is.
"I suggest you hand over the brats." Eichi whispers with a threatening tone. If the fox doesn't comply, she can easily swip the kids away with a snap of the finger. Though maybe causing the fox encusiating pain might lighten the demoness's mood. Giving it good measures, she hisses to show she means business~!
After all only she can threaten Zuki with her children and get away with it!
Mayumi simply blinked as the female yourouzoku approached her. She could understand why she would be angry, a stranger holding her children -possibly even because she was a 'half-breed', as the wolf had so lovingly stated- but honestly, she had left her children on the forest floor with no one to protect them. So... Mayumi wasn't taking to heart anything the wolf snarled at her.
She watched the oldest one giggle and skip over to her mother, a smile held fast on the kitsune's face before she looked up. Now, she gets dressed. Mayumi resisted the urge to roll her eyes and growl at the yourouzoku and calmly handed the children over. "At least I didn't leave them in the forest." She grumbled to herself and took a step back, Taro was almost immediately by her side, his arm quickly wrapping around her shoulders and pulling her close.
"She was just being helpful." He practically growled, glaring down at the albino he had recently been groping. Not on purpose mind you. It was all that stupid, Kouga-... Taro had glanced up to stare across the river at his younger brother. And the sight before him nearly froze his blood. "Oh... shit..."
[- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~*/~ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -]
The trees above Taro's head rustled, and as the loose leaves fell so did the bodies of two more yourouzoku.
Cheiko, who had been pateintly watching the scene unfold from the safety of her tree, thumped down beside Taro and stood straight as she glanced across the river. Her golden brown eyes full of joy, and a small smirk on her face. "This. Is. Awesome." She laughed softly to herself and crossed her arms, for the first time she wasn't the one about to get yelled at.
Oh no. This time. She got to watch.
Amaya, who had finally caught up with the rest of her family -and who had been frolicing in fields for most of the day and trying to remember why she had joined with Granny and the others in the first place- had landed just a few inches behind Zuki. "Is that Kouga?" Her voice was a bit louder then normal, and she had a bit of a whine mixed with it, partly from being tired. "What he do this time?"
[- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~*/~ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -]
Across the river [which to Kouga seemed like an ocean at the moment] Hotaka had taken shelter in a bush not to far from Granny, and Kouga was practically peeing his pants as he stared at her.
In all the years Granny had been alive, only two things had ever really pissed her off.
The first was her father's 'mysterious' death. And most of the drama that had surrounded her taking over the pack. That had resulted in a cave collapse; crying babies; and a trademark purple aura to surround her.
The second had been when she had found out her son had left the pack to go mate with yet another failure. And this time, instead of collapsing a cave, Granny had taken out almost three acres worth of trees, more crying babies, and yet again, that purple aura.
And now. Not even a few yards from her very feet. Were four children. FOUR
children. Who claim that Kouga was there father. Kouga, her Kouga. Had children. Not just one, but four. Four.Four.Four." Kou-ga..." She could feel her temperature rise, her heart beat quicken, and for some odd reason she felt weightless as she continued to glare. He had killed her pack. Snap.He had abandoned their cave. Crackle.He had mated with a second rate, whore of a wolf. Pop.And he had created four little terrors. Self-destruct sequence begins in: 3..." Uh. Granny?" 2..." -Whimper- Granny?" 1..." KOUGA!!!!!!!!!" " THE BANANA MADE ME DO IT!" Thank you and have a nice day...[/blockquote]
The albino shot her friend an empty glare, sliently wondering where Amaranthe had run off to. Turning your back on that child was never smart. Then she decided to make her wondering less silent. "Where the hell did the other little brat get to any way?"Turning her attention back to Mayumi, (and now Taro), she snatched the camly offered children from the Kitsune and proceeded to continue snarling at the two of them. "What I do with my pups is my own damn business, understand me? And it's just as much Kouga's fault as it is mine."She could only assume that they too knew her mate, as it seemed she was the only one who had no idea what was going on. The fact that Taro was much taller than her didn't scare her. She was used to looking up at people. But the fact that he had, up until recently, been sitting in her very naked lap, made her very angry. She prepared herself to start yelling again, but the old woman across the river beat her too it. Tzuki whipped around to the source of all the commotion. "The banana made me..."Wait, what did he just say!? Still carrying Porthos and Aramis, she started to wade back across the river... Athos, her genius child, followed behind her on a little ice bridge he formed, Seilu behind him. "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?"[/ul][/blockquote]
You have NO idea how much I hate you now...
Lux was definitely ticked off at Amaranthe's atnics. He was still panting for air, considering that his vision went all fuzzy a few moments ago. His hair was still frizzy, slightly burnt and matted, and it was littered with pieces of dried, withered leaves. As he lay there on the ground, he couldn't help but grin for a moment. He'd relied on his smarts and he survived the oxygen-vacuum. But the wry grin of contempt turned into a snarl as Lux watched Amaranthe march over towards him. She was giggling with some sort of whacked-out pleasure she got from torturing him and hearing his voice go: KER-SQUEAK. But what happened moments before didn't matter now. Lux was definitely upset about being treated like a squeaky-toy. As the demoness loomed over him, she covered the sun. She looked pretty eerie and daunting now, like some sick, playful shadow. She bent over to whisper into his ear. “You're a smart one, aren't you? Usually they always die.”Lux couldn't help but utter a “Hmph.”She then giggled, which caused him to grit his teeth in an irritated frustration. This was his first encounter with a demon, and already he decided he didn't like it one bit. Usually he was more animated and more intelligent than many of the people in his village, but he was the one who needed to fill in the blanks about demons in this world. Amaranthe swiveled around carelessly, waiting for more amusement. “Won't you play with me longer?” she chided. Lux thought about it for a moment. If I don't keep up with her I'll die... If I do keep up I'll die... If I run away I'll die...
ARE THERE ANY MORE OPTIONS OTHER THAN DYING? Wait... His brain clicked together a little plan. ...If only I had my jacket...He got up a second time from the ground, not bothering to dust himself off. A cheeky grin lit up his face. “Sure...” he replied. ____________________ Comments: Make sure you paid attention to what Lux came here originally for. He's not as stupid as you think~ <3
"Where the hell did the other little brat get to any way?"
"That's what I was going to ask, if and after I blackedmailed you with your children," Eichi says in a peppy tone. After all she was going to ask, but maybe she was lieing on the blackmailing part. Or not. Depend on how desperate the shadow demoness felt on the situation. Does she really want to punish Amaranthe, or will she let it go?
Nah~ It'd be more fun to torture the poor child~
Feeling the pressure of demonic energy, Eichi looks sideways towards the old lady. Blinking a few times at the expression of her face--fury. And from the looks of it, it's being directed at lil Zuki the albino. Who happens to be fully dressed, thank Kami, and walk towards ole' granny with a little something on her mind. Two kids held in both arms, and little Athos following behind. Oh and Seilu as well. But she's always like Porthos the most, the little genius~
----------------------[+]----------------
“Sure...”
She could hear the slight hesitation in his voice. Like he knows that no matter what he does, he'll die. Which might actually happen, if she's not entertained that is. Though that's a slime little chance that he'll live. A little thought comes to mind when thinking about it. How about she makes up a game, and if he wins. She won't kill him. Yeah...it'll be fun~
"How about a game." Amaranthe says all of a sudden. Swirling around to look at Lux with a sadistic smile. "If you win the game, I won't kill you~ But if you lose...well...I think you get the idea."
Well good thing Amaranthe doesn't like to lose~
A whistle sound rang in Granny's ears. Reminding her of a tea pot in one of the hundreds of Inn's she had visited over the years. But the whistling sound was quickly followed by a soft... Pop.
And all the older yourouzoku could see was flashing purple and black lights. And then everything went black. Total and utter darkness. And she loved it. The peace, the quiet, the lack of annoying yourouzoku's getting others pregnant and destroying what she had spent centuries building. "Oh. My head." She whimpered softly, opening her eyes and glancing upwards.
The normally blue sky was a bit hazy. The fluffy white clouds annoyed her more than usual, and for some reason she thought she heard a faint voice calling her name.
"Granny?" Kouga knelt beside his grandmother with a concerned look on his face. "Yoohoo. Earth to Granny. Grannylicious?" Kouga pushed against her shoulder lightly, hoping to wake her up from her trance, and hoping he wasn't pissing her off too much. " Guh-Rannie!"
Slap!
" Gtfo me, you annoying, pathetic excuse for a wolf." Granny out right snarled at him. But her attention quickly turned to Zuki and the pups she was wading across the stream with. " Don't get any closer to me with those. Or I will snap their necks so fast, you won't have a chance to blink, teme." Granny shot a venomous look at the pup in Zuki's arm and slowly picked herself up. Ignoring the angry barks that Kouga was throwing her, defending his wife and children, and turned away from the group. At least I didn't destroy any trees this time...[/blockquote]
" Tsuzuki hissed her words through clenched teeth, tail bristling. "You wouldn't dare..."A slow, understanding smirk crept over her face. "For all you know, these pups could mean the future of your line... Seeing as the other male over there seems to pretty friendly with that half-breed fox"The grin spread, reminiscent of the old Zuki. The one who used to disembowl people for looking at her the wrong way... Which she still did, from time to time, but much less frequently now. Usually too busy. "Like it or not, my bloodline is pure, which means theirs is as well... and you wouldn't risk disposing of that, would you?"She adjusted the two little boys in her arms, as Seilu and Athos peered out from behind their legs. This was all still just a game to them. Tsu shot a quick, weary glance over at her mate... She was pretty sure she guessed right on this one, but never the less... She didn't have time to finish the thought. Athos, releasing his grip on his mother's calf, proceeded to scurry past the old woman stand in front of his father... but rather than hide, he proceeded to stare at Granny's feet with the sort of look of utter concentration that can only be acheived by small OCD children and well trained monks. And the ground beneath her feet proceeded to freeze over into a sheet of ice... [/ul][/blockquote]
As soon as he'd gotten up and brushed off what little dust and earth that had clung to his skin and clothes, the demoness was up for it, and twirled around to face him. He noticed the ax-crazy, sadistic smile on her face; he didn't think it was cute at all. Repulsive, actually.
“How about a game?” she said in a tone oh-so-sweet.
“...” The corner of Lux's smile twitched a little. He did not see that coming.
“Eh...” She continued as soon as his voice trailed off flatly.
“If you win the game, I won't kill you~ But if you lose the game...well...I think you get the idea.”
He had to think fast, think now. If he learned anything at all by being Amaranthe's chew-toy today, it was that she didn't like to wait. He continued the conversation seamlessly.
“Alright. What's the game called, then? And, what are the rules?” I hope she doesn't make 'em up as we go along... He hoped.
“But first, lemme go grab my jacket...”
He held his gaze with her pink, cruel one for a moment, his smile not flinching any longer. Then he moved towards the spot where his jacket lay in a heap of earthy dust and ash. He put the jacket on, sliding one tan arm before the other, not bothering to zip it up. He awaited her response to his questions about the game as he walked back over to her.
God, I hope it's not a guessing game.
Musing over whatever possibilites and rules Amaranthe's game might have, he bit his lip, then gritted his teeth all of a sudden.
“It's tag, isn't it?”
Oh yes.
The fatal, childhood favorite...
"Well I feel ignored."
Yawning obnoxiously and plopping herself onto a rock, Eichi lazily looks at the 'exciting' scene unfolding before her. From what she's heard so far, and lots of it being guesses, that the woman yapping off against Tsuzuki is the grandma to Kouga, the half-wit wonder boy. The fox thingy is mated to a relative of Kouga's, Grandma thinks Tsuzuki is stripper, the kids are half stupid on what's going on, she bored as hell, and there is no sign of Amaranthe anywhere around here. Except for that fact that Tsuzuki had asked her were Amaranthe was. Thus telling the demoness that Amaranthe had just recently been here.
So where the hell is she? Also on the note, does that little brat have anything to do with that explosion from before? If so, she can only guess that the cause of it, is going to be here any second.
Joy~.....
....~.~......
Tag?
Pah-lease~ Amaranthe absolutly hates that game. She of course never had much interaction with other kids her age. Mostly because they all were drooling and still sucking their mother's nipples, but whatever. If she's ever played that game, it was with the old hag, and she likes to play dirty. When she means dirty, she means: scare you shitless every corner, make it seem like you're gonna win but you don't, and lots of injuries accuring during the 'hunt'. Yeah, not her favorite. So she has something better in mind. "No, silly~," Amaranthe chides Lux, with the same fake sweet tone. "We're gonna play a little game called, 'Catch the Mouse~""Simple really. All you have to do is evade me until you get to the river. Which means, as long as you're alive and get to the river, I'll leave you alone~!"Yeah, then let's see if he survives running into a pack of wolves~ From what I could tell, Tsuzuki and that old wolf demoness were getting pretty huaghty. Tee hee~ Of course, even if he did run a little to the side. She was sure Lux wouldn't waste time running in zig zag pattern, or run in a dramatic slanted line. If anything, he'd try to use the trees for cover and go straight, if possible. So if anything, it wouldn't be much of a loss to her anyway. Three possiblities, and the really extreme fourth. She'd kill him, the wolf demons would kill him, or he'd miraculously live through her and the wolves. Then the extreme fourth. He some how was able to kill her. See~ Extreme fourth~ "Here are the rules~!" Amaranthe exlaimes as she walks forward. Twirling around Lux, her dress slowly lift to show the flower style that it is. "Rule number 1~! There are no rules~" Amaranthe says. After all, who'd want rules? They just make the games least interesting whent he person who's running for his life is constrained. After all, she curious as to what he'll do to survive. Done twirling around him, she stops and looks at Lux with a fixed grin. "LET THE GAME BEGIN~!" Amaranthe yells as she crouches down with a growl. Showing off her fangs. Staying there to give him a five second head start, if he's smart he'd run without thinking. Crouching there for the five seconds her eyes look at the jacket of his. Weird..... Comments:: Too bad Amaranthe isn't so sharp to realize what Lux is attempting xD o3o [/blockquote][/blockquote]
The older yourouzoku was trying to calm herself down, breathing in and out in even breaths and hoping the annoying whine of Zuki's voice would just stop. She didn't care how it stopped, she just wanted it to be gone.
It was almost worse then Kouga's voice.
But Granny knew the whore was right. Taro had mated with a fox, meaning the yourouzoku line stopped with him. Considering the only this the little teme he was with could give her were disgraces. Half breeds. Ayama wasn't directly descended from her, and even if she was, the trouble free yourouzoku didn't show an interest in any others. Just herself and her fashion.
Hotaka and Cheiko were infected half breeds. The only thing they'd be good for it... Nothing. In Granny's opinion the only one who could provide her with heirs was Kouga. And somewhere deep down in her heart, Granny knew that those children in the Zuki's hands were her heirs. The only ones she would ever have. And the only ones who could carry on her proud line, with no infection.
Damn the whore for being right.
She had just wished that Kouga would have waited to mate with someone she picked out. Not some common trash he'd found in the forest.
Granny could smell and feel the small pups aura as he stood close to her. From the corner of her eyes she glared down at him, assessing him with as much scrutiny she could muster. But, God's help her, he looked exactly like Kouga. Wide blue eyes that stared openly at her bare feet, a short tail that wobbled oddly behind him, and the ears. It is Kouga... It was the same small, curious little pup she had raised and trained... Or at least tried to.
"No matter. I'll just have to do a better job this time around." The older yourouzoku sighed softly to herself, turning her head to watch Kouga pick the boy up in his arms and take a step back from her. With a growl she rolled her eyes, he wouldn't even look at her.
When the sudden coldness reached her feet, she whipped around and glared back at Zuki, her upper lip raising above her white fangs in warning. After a moment she stopped, closed her eyes and breathed in again. "I see we are at an impasse. Obviously I can't let the pups go unnoticed. They are the only heirs I will have." She opened her eyes again, but refused to look at Zuki, instead she looked past her, where Taro and Mayumi were snuggling, and Amaya was messing with a loose thread on her shirt. Rolling her eyes once more she gave the whore one quick glance. "I guess I have no choice."
Taunting Granny while she was actually agreeing with her was probably not smart...but then again, Tsuzuki wasn't smart. So she stood there, offering out Aramis and Porthos with nothing less than a mocking pout on her face. When the other female looked away, Tsu took it as an opportunity to shoot a triumphant look at Kouga. 'Ha! She's not so tough after all'..."I'm sure my pups would just love to meat their Great Gramma."Yes, let's poke the rabid wolf with a stick and see what happens. Brilliant Idea. Positively brilliant. Seilu, on the other hand didn't quite comprehend what just happened... Just that her mother wasn't happy, and her father wasn't happy, and it as all because of the much older woman standing a few yards away. With a very childish, but still very Tsuzuki-esque pout, Seilu crept out from behind her mother and walked up to--while staring up at--Granny. And folded her arms with a 'hmph'. Her big, blue eyes-- and like all the pups, she had Kouga's eyes exactly--were narrowed at first, but they gradually widened as she stared at the woman... And they gradually unfocused.... And she was gradually trying to suck her Great Grandmother's soul.... [/ul][/blockquote]
"No, silly~," ...Wait, WHAT??? Oh, surprise, surprise... One of his eyebrows quirked as his head tilted to one side in disbelief. "We're gonna play a little game called, 'Catch the Mouse~" ...? But I'm not a mouse! Lux was prepared to protest, but thought better of it at once; he would've died on the spot if he disagreed with her.. Instead, he slouched to one side, trying to keep some of the anxiety away.
"Simple really. All you have to do is evade me until you get to the river. Which means, as long as you're alive and get to the river, I'll leave you alone~!" THE RIVER??? Where is that...?
He tried to keep the shock from showing, but it was difficult to do so in the given situation. But then...Hallelujah! The faint sound of water was picked up by his (not so superhuman) ears as soon as Amaranthe finished her sentence. That last part was a relief to him, but it would only come true if he was somehow able to win. Flicking hie eyes back and forth, Lux was able to get the gist of where the closest part of the river was: right behind him.
“Heh. I hope so...” he muttered under his breath. Nerves. Speaking of which, his breathing was getting more uneven. Whether it was because Amaranthe freaked him out, or the fact his life was hanging on by a thread, he wasn't going to calm down anytime soon.
"Here are the rules~!" He knitted his brows as he saw her approach him. Lovely. She's twirling.
Apparently it was just a game to her; he knew as much as she did that the odds of him killing her were around the square root of one in a billion. Infinitesimal. His heart began to pound.
"Rule number 1~! There are no rules~" Joy. Damn...it'll start...anytime now... A bead of sweat ran down his forehead. Anticipation SUCKS.
The demoness stopped spinning around him with a grin, and he reached for something within the left-hand pocket of his jacket with a frown. No matter how many times he was skyrocketed off somewhere into the distance, he would never tire of the explosions.
His eyes narrowed. Three...Two...One... Something clicked in his jacket. "LET THE GAME BEGIN~!" She howled.
Like a madman, he pulled out a funny-looking, tiny metal canister no bigger than his palm. The top of it was painted red, and the bottom in black. A lever-like thing on the bottom of it was facing a painted symbol that resembled a star. Who knew what the explosives expert meant by doing that; the only thing that needed knowing was that the damn thing was ACTIVATED.
“GYAAAAAAHHH!!!”
Lux chucked it at the ground right in front of him, turning 180 degrees as it did so. The top of the canister was facing the ground at an angle where the black part pointed in his direction. It took fractions upon fractions upon fractions of a second for the thing to go off; in otherwords, immediately as it made impact with the ground. The red end exploded with more force than the black end, and the resulting power launched Lux in a straight line, headfirst, wailing, into the trees ahead.
He probably went into cardiac arrest, he probably broke his personal “human rocket speed record.” His “grenade” probably didn't have a chance to hurt Amaranthe. Why? The force of the thing was aimed directly at the ground and at Lux; all she probably suffered from was an evil dirt cloud of doom. Probably.
But at the speed Lux was going, it became almost 100% possible that he could actually win. Besides, not dying was considered good by his standards. He tore through branches, leaves, and maybe a bird or two. His pants were all burnt and he left a trail of grey smoke and little sparks behind him as he flew by.
“WAHHH-HOO-HOO-HOOOO!!!”
Idiot.
Then again, it was quick thinking.
Even the river seemed to get closer...
