In Masaru's old village, he was taught in the ways of combat. His village was one of many cruel camps. One fateful day, a hoard or demons attacked his village, leaving Masaru barely alive. He washed down the river and was found by Lady Kaede, whom took him to her village and nursed him back to full health. Ever since, he has taken a fondness toward Lady Kaede, looking to her as a mother figure. After an incident, where a demon attacked the villiage and there was no sign of Inuyasha and the others, Masaru took a sword and defeated the demon, he vowed to protect all other innocent villagers from harm, and has since traveled the land, taking jobs protecting a village for a while.
