A cold wind howled through the mountains, whisting through the trees as the winter sun was setting. A carpet of dead leaves coated the ground, muffling the sound of footsteps. On a cliff overlooking a vast valley stood a girl, no older than 14 in appearance. The red glow of the dying sun cast an orange glow over the figure, accentuating her firey red hair.
Violet eyes scanned the horizon, looking for signs of life in unfamiliar territory. There was a small village not far off-- that would be her next destination.
Mizuki was searching for a demon. More specifically, a wolf demon. She was searching for the one called Tsuzuki.
Mi was quite curious to meet this demon. The albino fit the description nearly perfectally that of her older sister, who had dissappeared many years prior to her birth. Still, Mizuki found it odd that any demon with control over the 6th element, ice, would leave home in the high mountains for a life in the warmer climate to the south.
That was another reason Mizuki was here. Her affiliation being with the element of fire, the cold icy climate of home did not suit her well. She needed heat to reach the full potential of her powers.
Mi was tensed, listening intently for any signs of life on the cliff before heading down the mountain. She wasn't alone.

A breath of fire escaped the demoness’s lips, as she made her way up the mountain. She hated the cold, more importantly she hated the winter. The blanket of white crystals were breath taking, both in awe and literally her breath. She always was fascinated in how every single snow was different, the shape and texture was so intriguing. But she hated it in the end.
Stomping her way up she let another stream of fire escape her lips, putting her hand on Jakunen she could tell the sword wasn’t enjoying the winter either. Looking down at her sword she let a more fire escape her lips to the sword heating it up, so as to not have it break from the coldness of it all. She had been traveling with Tsuzuki for some time now, and lets just say no day was dull.
The wolf demoness just had to cause great amounts of trouble, and Yuki just had to get into trouble. She had just come from the small village, leaving Tsuzuki and Yuki to themselves so she could have some time to herself. Don’t get her wrong she loved traveling with the two, they got along quite well it’s just all the trouble the two makes that really bug her. Well she may have caused some trouble for the two with her constant flirting with the men, which just left Tsuzuki to drag her away from them so they could move on to the next destination. But hey she isn’t getting any younger.
The reason they were in this area was that there was supposable a Shikon no Tama fragment near by. Kaji never understood why Tsuzuki sought after it, sure she understood that the wolf wanted power but Kaji thought she could do it without the help of the shards. Kaji just shook her head as she made her way to a cliff that had great view of the tiny village she came from, so she could have time to herself and watch if the two wolves made any trouble. Half way there she was greeted with a wolf, unsure about the wolf Kaji stayed alert ready for if any trouble came.

Mizuki turned in the direction of the fire demon. How did she know what Katanakaji was? Well, Mi could sense the heat from the flames. With the air and landscape so cold and frozen, Mizuki had tuned herself to pay attention to even the smallest source of heat.
The other demon seemed friendly enough. Sure, she looked like she was prepared if Mizu tried anything, but she hadn't straight out attacked. Good sign.
" 'ello, and who would you be?" Much like Tsuzuki, Mizuki had no problems with opening up and talking. If anything, she was the friendlier of the two. Another thing Mizuki didn't do was mask her emotions behind a facade of innocence or anything else. If she was pissed, you'd know it.
Anyway, it was possible that she could get as much information from this demon as she could in the village-- mortals had a tendency to twist stories, then end up confusing what is fact and fiction. A lone wandering demon would most likey have more truth to her account.
Meanwhile, back in the village....
People weren't taking to kindly to Tsuzuki and her little companion. As it turns out, Zuki didn't have very good skills when it came to dealing with mortals. Apparently, death threats don't work when they gather in large numbers.
"Oh, how cute Yuki, they brought torches." The men of the village had since decided that the demoness was a danger to their village, and that they'd have to kill her. Aside from the mob, the streets were deserted. Tsuzuki stood with her arms folded, trying her best to look pathetic. To bad the tone of her voice gave her true feelings away almost immediately. "Awww, now what did I do? Threaten to kill a few of you? Destroy you homes? You really shouldn't take these things so seriously." Hn. I should probably go find Kaji. I'll never hear the end of it if I go on a little rampage and destroy the village. Not that her constant flirting is any worse....
Overall the group got along pretty well, considering they were pretty much polar opposites. None of them had tried to kill eachother at least. Anyway, all she knew was Kaji had headed up in the direction of one of the mountains. Turning away from the crowd, Tsuzuki started walking back in the direction she had come from, stopping to shout back at the villages, without turning, "Hn. You're lucky this time." Before continuing on her way.
Kaji has got to be around here somewhere. Hopfully a shikon shard too.

Looking over at the wolf, she placed herself so she could have a good look at the village and the wolf. Rubbing her arms again she let a big stream of fire escape her lips warming herself up. She didn’t even care if it made any affect on the wolf, she was more worried of not turning into a Popsicle. “I am Katanakaji, a sword smith of the south, and who may you be,” she said with a bored tone, turning to the site of the village. Snuggling deeper into her fur coat she saw tiny fires in the village, very close to each other.
Kaji just growled to herself, as she had been traveling with the two wolves she had learned the sings of a mob. And that was it, hopefully Tsuzuki left them alone, sure she didn’t care for humans but it be best to leave humans alone. They let word travel really fast, and twist them while they are at it. That really isn’t something they need, maybe Tsuzuki would enjoy it but it would be just a waste of time. What was more important was to gather the Shikon no Tama shards, as Tsuzuki had said was her goal while traveling. Kaji would just make sure that it stuck with the wolf and she didn’t get side tracked.
“Tsuzuki,” she hissed, before turning abruptly and making her way down the mountain. She didn’t even wait for the wolf to answer her question, it would be best to meet the wolf and make their way from the village. No good information was there anyway.

Mizuki closed her eyes for a minute, trying to absorb any of the heat that she could from the blast of fire created by Kaji. "Well Kaji-san, I am Mizuki from the north. Seems like i'm not the only one around her who can control fire."
As she spoke though, the swordsmith became distacted. Glancing out over the cliff, the direction Katanakaji seemed to be looking, she too could see the glow of many lit torches. I nice change to see, rather than just snow, ice and rocks. None of those things particularly interested Mi at all. Ice and snow were opposites of fire, and rocks didn't burn. So sad. What did interest her though, was the name Kaji said. Running to get infront of the fire demon, she said, "Wait, what did you just say? What was the name? Tsuzuki, was it?" This was what she was hoping for. Tsuzuki was the name of her sister. Odd, how their parents chose all female names ending in Zuki. There was no real theme to her brothers names, and they had quite a few siblings. Tsuzuki wasn't the first dead (or thought to be, for that matter) either. But hey-- that was life in the yourouzoku tribe-- people died, life went on.
Meanwhile, further down the mountain.....
Yuki was struggling to get through a rather deep patch of snow, while Tsuzuki stood a little was up, trying to stifle her laugher. "Comeon sweetie, you can to it." Yuki had a look of pure determination on her face. Finally, gathering her strength to take one big leap, she made it out of the snow drift... and onto a patch of ice. Now she slid sideways, off the icy rock and back into deep snow. Now laughing, Zuki went and pulled her out. "Hm, need some help there?" Yuki looked away, indignant. Tsuzuki, on the other hand, was able to walk almost on top of the snow-- just one of the perks to being a demon. "Now let's go find Kaji-san, shall we? How much do you want to bet she found another guy to flirt with?"

Kaji immediately stopped in her tracks when the wolf jumped in front of her asking about Tsuzuki. She didn’t seem made at the name, so she could tell Tsuzuki didn’t so anything to anger the wolf. Stepping back a bit she, looked over the wolfs shoulder. “I may have said that name,” she said with uncertainty, stepping around the wolf she jumped down on to the steep side of the mountain landing on a rock sticking from it. Looking up at the wolf, she covered her eyes as to not get stray snow in it. “Now then if you’ll excuse me I have to go meet someone,” she hollered up to the wolf. She wasn’t trying to be rude or anything, but it would be best to hurry to Tsuzuki.

"Really, it is quite important that--" but the other demon was trying to take off again. The snow had once again started, causing Mi to shiver slightly. The swordsmith had to meet someone. This Tsuzuki, maybe? Mi wasn't ready to give up on this lead yet. Following Kaji, she jumoed down, landing on her feet. "Is it this Tsuzuki that you're going to meet? As I was saying before, it is quite important that I contact the one called Tsuzuki. She is an albino, is she not? With elemental powers?" She wasn't about to give out the information that she may be related to said demon, as she didn't know what sort of relationship Zuki had with the fire demon. They could be enemies-- quite possible, considering the differences between them and their element affiliations.
Tsuzuki and Yuki were fast approaching-- they were in a grove of trees, just out of sight of Mizuki and Kaji. While the cold air would make it much harder for most demons to seperate out scents, Tsuzuki had no problem. She was able to tell before she saw, or heard them that Kaji wasn't alone. Another demon, wolf demon, was there. A strangely familiar, yet unfamiliar scent. Tsuzuki felt as if she had smelled it at some point before, as if in a dream.

Kaji just narrowed her eyes, as the Wolf asked question which she would have answered with yes but she had to go. Not liking the wolf’s persistence, Kaji kicked the side of the mountain with great strength that comes with being a sword smith. Soon the mountain started shaking as some big mounds of snow came down, without a second she back flipped off the rock as the snow got in-between the two. Using the chaos with the snow to her advantage she ran towards Tsuzuki. During their travels, Kaji had learned how to navigate through the blizzards that the wolf had made. Running towards Tsuzuki she didn’t even notice that the two were just a few feet away in till it was too late.

Mizuki shreiked as pounds of snow and ice came tumbling down on her-- there was no escaping it. And the other demon got away.
Tsuzuki hadn't been paying to muc attention to where she was walking, when suddenly everything began to shake. "What the hell?" Not more than a few seconds later, KatanaKaji came diving into her. Yuki went flying, and Tsuzuki landed on the ground in a heap. "What, are you trying to kill me or something!? Is something trying to eat you? You were flirting with a girl and thought it was a guy?" Zuki couldn't help but laugh at that last one. She did have a sense of humor after all.
While this was going on, Mizuki was trying to dig herself out of the snow. Finally, shaking and shivering, she pulled herself out. Frozen and tripping over herself, she made her way closer to Kaji, cursing and glaring daggers from her violet eyes. "Oh you bitch! What the hell'd you do that for?!"

Kaji just held her head, as Tsuzuki laughed at her last comment. That had happened to her before, but to hell was she going to mention that to Tsuzuki. Getting up she walked over to were Yuki had landing, digging into the snow she finally got Yuki out of the snow. Picking the wolf up and holding her while trying to get the snow off of the wolf, she tensed at the outburst from a certain wolf.
“Watch your tongue child,” Kaji snapped back at the wolf, narrowing her eyes again. She just did that because she wanted to see if it would have worked, but if she told the wolf that she’d think Kaji was crazy. Closing her eyes she brushed one last snow from Yuki’s fur, walking over to Tsuzuki giving one of her hands not holding Yuki to Tsuzuki.

Yuki snuggled into Kaji's arms, trying to warm herself. Better than trying with Tsuzuki, who's skin was almost always cold.
Mizuki had finally made her way over to the other three. "I'll watch my mouth if I want to, don't tell me to watch it." She was ready to start hurling insults, when she noticed Tsuzuki. She froze for a minute, wondering how she hadn't noticed earlier. "Tsuzuki-nee-san?" When it came to family resembalance, you could say it was present. Aside from the obvious fact that the albino gene had skipped Mizuki (there was a very small chance more than one of the children would actually be albino) They had the same basic face and body shape. Tsuzuki was also quite a bit taller. But Tsuzuki didn't know they were related yet.
"Nee-san? What the hell are you talking about?"

Kaji just let Yuki snuggle in her arms, the poor thing was probable freezing. Turning her back to the two wolves petting Yuki, she bit her lip. From that response from the wolf, she had a better look at the two. They looked very close, besides the albino thing with Tsuzuki but they looked the same.
“Nee-san is a word that people use to their sibling brothers and sisters,” Kaji said still biting her lip, so she didn’t laugh out loud. Snorting a bit, she started to edge away. It wasn’t that Kaji was ditching Tsuzuki, okay never mind she ditching the wolf.
“Well Yuki and I shall be going, have fun reuniting you two,” said with a smile before taking a few steps from the two wolves. She was just a few inches from were Tsuzuki sat on the ground from the little collide.

Zuki gave Kaji a dry look. "I know what Nee-san means, I'm wondering why she's using it to refer to me.", she grumbled, folding her arms. "And thanks for laughing.......Where exactally do you think you two are going?"
Mizuki cocked her head and looked at Tsuzuki. "You're not from around here are you. You're from the Northern mountains." Tsuzuki gave her a funny look and just nodded. "Yeah, what of it?" "And you're an albino ice elemental." "Obviously." "And your parents names are Kiba and Azami." Tsuzuki thought for a minute.... She wasn't positive, but she thought the girl was right. It had been awhile, but somewhere in the back of her mind she could remember her parents sames. Not sibblings though-- Mi was born long after she left anyway. "How the hell did you know that!?"
Mizuki just smirked back at her. "Oh, I have my sources...."

Kaji just returned the dry look, my was this girl dense. Turning back around to the two, she smiled. “Tsuzuki, I thought you were dense, but not this dense.” Kaji said with an eyebrow raised. Kneeling down she picked a mound of snow, still holding Yuki and bunched the snow into a snow ball. Getting up without Tsuzuki knowing it, she threw it at Tsuzuki. “And that’s just because I felt like it,” she said with a huff petting Yuki again. She knew she was going to be met with something even worse than a snow ball, but hey she’s bored.

Mizuki was doubbled over with laughter as she watched the fire demon throw snow at her sister-- she sincearly hoped Kaji didn't think that was going to do anything to Tsuzuki.
Once Zuki was hit, she closed her eyes, gaining control of her temper, and opened them again, grinning. "Oh, Kaji-san, you're in for it now!" Zuki picked up a snowball of her own and sent it hurdling at the fire demon-- it was going to be a lot worse for her than it was Zuki. "Hm. Now do you wanna call me dense?"
Still giggling a bit, Mizuki for the most part regained her composure. "Well Tsuzuki-nee-san, I'm assuming you've figured out who I am by now, but if you really are as dense as Kaji-san over there thinks, then let me explain it to you. I'm Mizuki, you're younger sister. "
Tsuzuki stood there for a moment, staring at her. "Well, I think I got as much as that we're from the same pack... But I have no reason to associate with any of them, sibbling or not, any longer."
